Trump Neurosis Thread

"NASA’s science programs budget could be slashed by 50 percent in fiscal year 2026, people familiar with the Trump administration’s budget request warn".

Interesting. Isn't there a clear conflict of interest as Musk would benefit from these proposed cuts?

I find it difficult to believe that abuse and exploitation by Musk could possibly go "unnoticed" given the intense scrutiny and political/media sniping going on.
Sort of the same shortsightedness as expecting no one would ever question the "robo-presidency" abuse that evidently took place, and the questions that raises.

NASA has been an sinkhole of profiteering for generations... if they are to continue to exist, they need a fiscal enema... and a full 'reset' of the operating environment.  NASA spent may years painstakingly expending money to craft public relations, shaming competition, squeezing every penny of profit from it's endless contracts and political/commerce connections... and apparently coming to actually believe in the 'image' they were selling.

Their posture, facing this heat, is to presume that to question them, is to question "heroes."  Unapologetic and aloof... how reassuring.  Rolleyes

I would wager that the 'dirt' within that agency's history will not doubt become the fodder of future cautionary legend...
(or perhaps more "PR," depending on who gets there first.)

I expect that analysis will eventually outline how taxpayers expended 35% more than they should have on nearly every project NASA ever "managed."
(On practically ALL taxpayer-funded research anywhere, in fact.)

Will "the science" stop?  No.
Just like the whining research "lifestyle" activists and their indoctrinated ilk...
suddenly they are faced with actually having to justify their own existence... and they can't have that.
"Fascism!" they cry... "We will sink into a dark age!" they warn.

There is nothing more frantic than watching the monopolists of the culture rail against change!  To their mind ANY change is damage, and NO change is ever warranted.  They seem confident that they are the model of perfection, and how dare we question or intercede with their machinations.

Doesn't NASA subcontract with SpaceX? likely contracted 24-48 months out if not longer.

seems if there were conflict they wouldn't do business together

NASA couldn't come close to matching SpaceX's launch schedule to the ISS much less all the satellites launched at full BUDGET.

Ignoring Musk's and thus Trump's full on launching into a technofascist future with a MAGA flavour vs the Dark Brandon angry Marxist variety, NASA has always been Never A Straight Answer, a dog and pony distraction show for the masses run by the military, ultimately, using obsolete technology.  While meanwhile the real space work is done by the military and the Secret Space Programme . yeah. I am one of those nutters.

Never A Straight Answer is an annoying FE thing.

If you might look on their website, you will find plenty of straight answers.

But carry on ignoring what is staring you in the face as Musk, the self confessed druggie, takes a wrecking ball to your country.

I will say no more, as there are none so blind as them that won't see.
I now know why I am called a grown up. Every time I get up I groan.

At this point if the real space work isn't being done by the military's secret space program I will be extremely disappointed

Have I done anything this morning but express my distrust about Musks's technocratic fixation ? I am staring at Musk and disagreeing with his AI control grid.  I find it typically disingenuous of you to cherry pick users' posts on this board to fit your 2-bit left-right dichotomous outlook.

Sigh. Whatever, mate.

Not interested in your standard MO of resorting to personal attacks.

Not sure of the truth, but it ties into my theme of today. Bad things.

Cutting waste fraud and abuse isn't 'taking a wrecking ball'.
It's fixing what is broken.

'magic money computers' i call that fraud.
it's why Catherine Austin Fitts was fired from HUD, for exposing huge money transfers with no solid backing.
