Trump Neurosis Thread
I do hope so, but until then...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/...ark-visit/

Quote:We need Greenland, very importantly for national security,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “We have to have Greenland. It’s not a question of, ‘Do you think we can do without it?’ We can’t.”

I can't support an American government that can't live without Greenland in our possession, and I'm wondering when the trolling will stop. Maybe its not. Maybe its Trump's Crimea of reindeer and polar bears.

And because we're doing permanent troll answers, I support this:

https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/12/europe/da...index.html

A trade. Straight up.

Greenland for California. You don't want us, we dont want to be part of the country "cant do without Greenland" ("At all costs" will be the next rhetoric) and I'm sure we'll let America keep its military bases.

Maybe even a merger. California merges with Denmark and the The USA can have Greenland?

This story is indicative of the Trump Neurosis levels at the Daily Mail, is it not?

Do you mean Dynasty as in John Forsythe and the Carringtons in Denver?

Im not sure how many participating here would get the reference...

"God damn it Alexa. I'm tired of your lies!"

A man before his time.

Edit: Sorry, off topic a bit there. Anyway, back to it:

The more I see of this Signal kerfuffle, the more weight I'm giving to it being a deliberate leak. It really is amazing how the issue of how has obscured the issue of what. As in, the issue of how the Administration is going about warfare has entirely eclipsed discussing of whether they should be doing it in the first place. It's just entirely assumed that it's of course what they should be doing, and the thing we really need to discuss is the sloppy way they went about it. Because, grr Trump hypocrisy! But her emails! Like, I'm looking at the NYT home page right now, and there's four different articles discussing the chat "leak". But no mention of the word "Yemen" on the entire page. That's surreal. It's like the neurosis has entirely sucked the air out of any conversation. Which is making it more and more suspicious -- they did say they might have a "messaging" problem in the chat. Well, no longer! Just give the people something to rail at Trump for, which will likely get nowhere, and it will entirely obscure any news cycle that actually, like, looks at the underlying issues. Wow.

FWIW there were posts on X.com where some of the chat provided by the Atlantic didn't have time stamps as did the other comments in the thread. The whole thing is "sus", not suggesting it wasn't a screw-up, because it is, but think Trump circles the wagon against the DNC's USAID-funded media

On a day when Zelensky declines to work with the US or Russia on a minerals or peace deal. As you mentioned we are still hitting Yemen, and we are hearing nothing at all from the media good, bad, or indifferent.

Makes me believe on some levels it's all subterfuge and misdirection...

Regardless Trump doesn't look worried or concerned in the least, hell he looks better than he has the last 4 years

Ja, seriously. Smile

About the minerals deal, I'm beginning to suspect that for the last five or six years Zelensky has been trotting around making back room promises with half the countries in the world for special-treatment mineral and resource deals, "after all the war stuff is taken care of", if only they'll keep giving him their support now. With the full intention of letting all of them argue it out when the bill comes due, while he skates away.

It explains why Trump made a big splashy push with the half-trillion dollar minerals "repayment" deal, which he probably knew had no chance of going through as-is. It shook all those sneaky little promises into the forefront, resetting the negotiating ground. Everyone went "hey, wait a minute, that was our deal!" That's why Zelensky went on a several-week "apology tour" to the Middle East and Europe after leaving Washington, desperately trying to keep his support from unwinding.

Hmm. Maybe.

Possibly Zelensky is being told what to do by connected factions in the US and elsewhere, sure the US funding will dry up but there is still loads of aid to launder. He seems to be stalling and hopes for a miracle.

I hope he gets it, because what happens when he doesn't and gets desperate?
