That goes for Russia too, or even more so if you take into consideration how their week long mission has now lasted 3 1\2 years.

Russia can play the long game.  The Ukraine keeps losing ground and limited manpower.

The war drags on three more years for the Ukraine at how many killed at what gain?

This is what doesn't make sense. Ukraine has been sent all kinds of supposedly superior weapons. We got all of Europe supplying them supposedly and America supposedly. And it's practically a stalemate. So I can only conclude Russia has better weapons than we are lead to believe, or Ukraine hasn't been getting all those weapons.

No telling how many US weapons systems Russia has been able to salvage or capture either.

That is very worrying.  Hopefully it’s all old equipment and not the latest generations.

I think it still stands, but the general thought is having at least a manpower advantage of 5 to 1 over the enemy to take territory and hold it. If you don’t have the manpower to hold the front line, you can’t hold it.  No mater how many drone strikes away from the front line.
The armchair Generals are out in force tonight...

Back up?

Can't blame him after being dog piled by Trump and JD last time.

Using your own (double) standards, why did Trump need JD to back him up?

I mean, it's what the thread is about, "generally" the war in Ukraine.

Or we can talk about bangers and mash and spotted dick

No thanks.  That would be on topic in the Banter Cafe.

Enjoy your "imbibing".....

PS, note the difference between "generally" and "Generals".
