Trump Announces Alaska Summit with Putin
(08-19-2025, 12:38 PM)WallFlowerActive Wrote: They keep losing territory.  Nobody is saying leave the Ukraine flat.  Nobody is saying to appease Putin where Europe is still buying cheap Russian energy.

what people are saying many people have been killed while making war merchants rich.  Putin still thinks Europe is weak and thinks he called their bluff.  Where if Europe really cared they need to send in troops.

Russia has 100 million more people than the Ukraine where the Ukraine is down 3 million people from war and people leaving the country.

What reasonable people want is an end to the meat grinder before Ukraine loses entire generations and all of the remaining Ukraine.  And get back to free elections in the Ukraine.

Again with all the one sided attacks on Ukraine, they're not the invading terrorist force here, Russia is! Ukraine is fighting for it's country and people.

So many 'Brave' Americans on the site, tell us would you give up 25-30% of America to an invading force??

We are very much British still, thanks old chap.

Whereas you seem to be overrun by  million's of illegal criminal,  murderers and rapists etc.  Or so your Prez keeps saying.

It's simple the Brits can't assimilate the migrants to become British

Brits should read it and weep, but it's more than a few sentences past your attention span... below that is the number of deportations so far. Your orange idol is working on it,

Enjoy

Quote:
    • The UK population has grown steadily, reaching approximately 59.6 million in England and Wales by the 2021 Census, and an estimated 69.6 million UK-wide by 2025. Migration has been a significant driver, particularly since the 1990s, when net migration overtook natural increase (births minus deaths) as the primary contributor to population growth.
    • In 1998, net migration was around 50,000 per year, but by the early 2000s, it quadrupled to approximately 200,000 annually due to liberalized immigration policies under the Blair government. By 2023, net migration reached a record high of 677,300, with 85% of migrants originating from non-EU countries, particularly India and Nigeria.
  1. Non-UK-Born Population:
    • In 1991, the non-UK-born population was relatively small, with estimates suggesting around 3.8 million foreign-born residents (approximately 7% of the population).
    • By 2004, this had increased to 5.3 million (8.9% of the population), and by 2021/22, it reached 10.4 million in England and Wales (14.8% of the population).
    • In 2021, the largest non-UK-born groups were from India (9%), Poland (8%), Pakistan (6%), Romania (5%), and Ireland (4%).
    • London has the highest proportion of foreign-born residents, with over 40% of its population born abroad in 2021, compared to a national average of 16%.
  2. Ethnic Composition and White British Population:
    • The proportion of the population identifying as White British has declined significantly:
      • 1991: 87.5% of the population in England and Wales identified as White British.
      • 2011: This fell to 80.5% (45.1 million).
      • 2021: Further decreased to 74.4% (44.4 million).
    • This represents a 13.1 percentage point decrease over 30 years. The absolute number of White British individuals remained relatively stable (around 45.5 million in 2001 to 44.4 million in 2021), but the overall population growth has reduced their proportional share.
    • Other ethnic groups have increased:
      • Asian British: From 7.5% in 2011 to 9.3% in 2021 (5.5 million), with Indian (3.1%) and Pakistani (2.7%) being the largest subgroups.
      • Black British: From 3.3% in 2011 to 4.0% in 2021 (2.4 million), with Black African (2.5%) growing faster than Black Caribbean (1.0%).
      • Other White: From 4.4% in 2011 to 6.2% in 2021 (3.7 million), driven by migration from Eastern Europe, particularly Poland.
      • Mixed Ethnicity: From 2.2% in 2011 to 2.9% in 2021 (1.7 million).
      • Other Ethnic Groups: From 1.0% in 2011 to 2.1% in 2021 (1.3 million).
    • Ethnic minority populations (non-White British) grew from 10% in 2001 to 21% in 2021.
  3. Nationality of Non-British Residents:
    • In 2020/21, the largest non-British nationalities were Polish (696,000), Indian (370,000), and Irish (370,000).
    • Non-EU nationals have consistently outnumbered EU nationals, with 6.9 million non-EU-born versus 3.5 million EU-born residents in England and Wales in 2022.
    • Post-Brexit, EU migration has declined, while non-EU migration, particularly for work and study, has surged. In 2024, Indian nationals accounted for 17% of immigration, followed by Pakistani (8%) and Chinese (7%).
  4. Factors Driving Change:
    • Immigration Policies: The British Nationality Act 1948 initiated modern immigration by granting Commonwealth citizens equal status to UK natives, leading to increased migration from former colonies. EU expansion in 2004 boosted Eastern European migration, particularly from Poland.
    • Birth Rates: Higher fertility rates among some ethnic minority groups, such as Asian and Black populations, contribute to their growing share. For example, in 2024, 34.7% of live births in England were to mothers born outside the UK, and 40.4% had at least one non-UK-born parent.
    • Aging Population: The White British population has a higher median age (43 years in 2021) compared to ethnic minority groups (e.g., 19 for mixed ethnicity), reflecting lower birth rates and an aging demographic.
    • Brexit: Post-2016, EU migration decreased, but non-EU migration increased, particularly in sectors like health and care.
Change in Ratio of British to Non-British
  • Defining "British": For this analysis, "British" refers to those identifying as White British, as this is the group most commonly associated with the term in demographic discussions and aligns with the user’s query. Non-British includes all other ethnic groups and foreign-born residents.
  • Ratio Calculation:
    • 1991: White British made up 87.5% of the population, with non-White British at 12.5%. Ratio: 87.5 / 12.5 = 7:1 (7 White British for every 1 non-White British).
    • 2021: White British at 74.4%, non-White British at 25.6%. Ratio: 74.4 / 25.6 ≈ 2.9:1.
  • Change in Ratio: Over 30 years, the ratio of White British to non-White British decreased from 7:1 to approximately 2.9:1, reflecting a significant shift toward a more diverse population.
Are There Fewer British Than Before?
  • Absolute Numbers: The absolute number of White British individuals has remained relatively stable, declining slightly from 45.5 million in 2001 to 44.4 million in 2021. This suggests there are not significantly fewer White British people in absolute terms, but their proportion has decreased due to overall population growth driven by immigration and higher birth rates among ethnic minorities.
  • Proportional Decline: The White British share dropped by 13.1 percentage points (from 87.5% to 74.4%) between 1991 and 2021, driven by the factors mentioned above.
Regional Variations
  • Londonstan: The most ethnically diverse region, with only 36.8% identifying as White British in 2021 (down from 44.9% in 2011). Over 40% of residents are foreign-born, with significant Asian (20.7%) and Black (13.5%) populations.
  • North East and Wales: Highest White British populations at 90.6% in 2021.
  • Other Regions: The South East and North West have sizable White populations, but ethnic diversity is increasing, particularly in urban areas.
Sentiment and Projections
  • Posts on X reflect concerns among some users about the declining White British proportion, with projections suggesting they could become a minority by 2060 if current trends continue. However, these projections are speculative and depend on unpredictable factors like future migration policies, fertility rates, and global events.
  • Official projections estimate the UK population will reach 70 million by 2026, with net migration accounting for nearly all growth by the mid-2030s as deaths are expected to outnumber births.
Conclusion
The UK has become more ethnically and nationally diverse over the past 30 years, with the White British population decreasing from 87.5% in 1991 to 74.4% in 2021. The ratio of White British to non-White British has shifted from 7:1 to approximately 2.9:1. While the absolute number of White British individuals has remained stable, their proportional decline is due to increased immigration (particularly from non-EU countries), higher birth rates among ethnic minorities, and an aging White British population. These trends are most pronounced in London and other urban areas. If the US was a weak sad corrupt little country like Ukraine then they’d have the same choice.
Nothing.
They’re going to lose land and there’s nothing anybody is going to do about it that they haven’t already done.
Like I said, it’s all over but the crying.
They fought Russia and kept 80% of their land, it could and should have been worse.

The NATO Europe/UK and whoever Putin SMOs should be extra ready, right?

Fool me once, shame on Putin; fool me twice, shame on NATO/Europe

Uncle Sam will still be there if it's beyond the EU's control, the UK is virtually useless, but Germany, Poland, France, and now Ukraine with American troops in the UK and Europe should be enough IF NATO/EU continues to build up thier troop strengths

and if Uncle Sam remains strong and doesn't elect vegetables for President, it won't happen at all.

I am foreseeing a Kosovo situation.
For peace to be lasting it has to be give and take.

Putin will keep Donbass and Crimea.
Ukraine will get more Western involved than ever before, security guarantees will be given to Ukraine.
EU and or NATO troops will be peacekeeping on the ground.

I am not sure if Donbass or Crimea will become 'countries' like Kosovo or how long there will need to be NATO troops on the ground, but it will be awhile.
'Partial diplomatic recognition'

Ukraine will continue to be shafted from left and right.

I will admit that my attention span when it comes to posters on this site posting in a sad attempt to wind me up (I will refrain from using a word that rhymes with "sausage roll") is pretty low.

Yep, shafted, grifted, and corrupted, but hey, the conflict should happen in the Ukrainian breadbasket rather than up Europe's bum

Depends how tired a country is from losing a whole generation of youth and if they want to risk losing what remained of the country.

If Europe wants to shore up Ukrainian manpower, send in troops.  But as it stands, the Ukrainian population can’t maintain the current attrition rate.  Better to keep what you have than lose everything from a population collapse.  Added.  Keep the Ukraine war going and there might be no choice only collapse.

The Ukraine war drags on three more years to what end with how many killed.
