Another step in the right direction. When Trump cannot make a phone call to Ukraine without getting impeached over it, its a mess.

Well, if that's one step forward, two steps back, i tend to agree.

They achieved sweet feck all, aside from a photo opportunity.

I wonder what it cost?

I'm not a politician or military commander, Kwaka, so........................

But stab in the dark, back Ukraine until the Russians are on their knees and fighting one another for the remaining scraps of their nation.

Im old enough to remember the arse end of the last Cold War.

And know perfectly well which side my bread is buttered.

That's certainly not Russian side up.

Freedom to Ukraine and down with the Russian scum invaders.

On the flip side of that, and since you asked, i feel it's only fair to return the question, what is your plan to stop the bloodshed?

Trumps meeting with Putin puts the spotlight on his health problems. It the past couple of weeks it has been revealed that Trump has a serious condition affecting the circulation of blood in his legs.

There has been no word from the Whitehouse how long Trump has been keeping this condition a secret from Americans.

This sometimes serious condition CVI, can have life threatening side affects.
Quote:Some of these dangerous complications are:
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): Typically, CVI can contribute to the development of blood clots in the deep veins, leading to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). This is a serious condition as it can get worse and lead to a pulmonary embolism (PE) if the clot travels to the lungs. This condition is life-threatening.
Venous Ulcers: These sores form around the ankles and are a result of poor circulation in your leg veins. If they become infected, healing can be slow and may lead to further complications.
Infections (Recurrent Cellulitis): Persistent venous insufficiency can cause the skin to break down, making it prone to infections such as cellulitis, a bacterial skin infection that can spread rapidly and require urgent medical attention.
Lipodermatosclerosis: This condition involves the hardening and inflammation of the skin and fat tissue in the lower legs. When this happens, the skin area will look scarred and harder than usual. It often leads to pain and immobility.
Secondary Lymphedema: CVI can lead to the blockage of lymphatic fluid in the legs. This causes swelling that is difficult to manage and increases the risk of infections.
Stasis Dermatitis: Prolonged CVI can cause chronic inflammation of the skin. Thus leading to redness, irritation, and the breakdown of skin tissue.
Pulmonary Embolism (PE): This is the most serious potential complication of CVI. If a blood clot forms in the deep veins and travels to the lungs, it can obstruct blood flow and become life-threatening. It usually requires immediate medical intervention. Moreover, symptoms of a pulmonary embolism include difficulty breathing, chest pain, or coughing up blood.

The pressures of being king of DC are many. Constant air travel, and such high stakes meetings, only add to the pressure.
Quote:President Donald Trump’s swollen ankles made their first appearance for several weeks during his high-stakes summit with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, prompting renewed questions about his health.

In the WW2 history of Ukraine, it was the Russians that pushed the Nazi back there. On the Western side of Ukraine there where other nations fighting as well, on the Eastern side it was all Russia. I would give them Crimea and a safe passage to get there.

As for giving Russia Kiev and cut Ukraine in half, lot more resistance there. Maybe Russia just has to wait again on that one. They have seen Kiev destroyed enough. As for the bit in the middle, maybe put it on the list to host the next Olympics? It is a very contested area, lot of corporate profits for the winners if they can do business without getting blown up.
hey maybe to stop bloodshed, stop making things that shed blood. and stop passing them out in the world to assert power. to do so becomes an irresistible lure and inevitably corrupts a nation.

okay, okay, i know, "go back to your van you hippie", but it was asked...

First off, Russia did not "liberate" Ukraine in WW2 out of the kindness of its heart.

Stalin's forces steamrolled through, leaving mass death, deportations, and famine all over the place.

Crimea wasn't some Russian gift, it was historically Tatar, and Russia's grabbing it in 2014 was flat-out theft, not destiny.

Saying "give them Crimea and a corridor" is like saying "hey, let the burglar keep your living room, he clearly likes it."

And Kiev? Ukrainians fought and died for their independence, they're not some side prize for Russia to "wait on."

It's not Monopoly, but people's lives, and an entire culture that's at stake.

And at the end of the day, it's Russian forces that are in the wrong postcode, not the other way about.

You dont reward home invaders, you repel them and send them home to think again.  Saint2

That's exactly what Trump got from his cosying up to Putin.

He should of at least been able to get his 'buddy' to agree to a cease fire.
Putin played him, just like everyone with any sense said he would.
