The heat man!
#1
It's 90° at 10:30am here in my neck of the woods. Momma (my better half according to her) and I got up at 7am this morning to water her flowers around the house. This evening, around 8pm I have to ride to the farm and water the gardens. The heat index has been over 100 for the last three days. Air conditioning and the swimming pond as we call it have been my relief. How's everyone been dealing with the heat?

I go out under a shady tree and read a book while my dog runs freely. Sometimes I sit right in the bask of the sun itself. Embrace it, or we will be unable to adapt. Had a fun day at Bush Gardens  yesterday, but only managed one roller coaster as rain and thunder kept the rides all shut down after 3pm.

Maybe the beach tomorrow. Cold water springs in this county tend to be overcrowded with time slots and the water gets nasty and greasy from so many piggies all waxed up in various petroleum based sunscreens with zinc oxides to protect their delicate pink skin which hardly ever sees the sun and hides in dark climate controlled caves for the bulk of their days. Floating band-aides and the occasional diaper. It is why when I do want to enjoy the springs I take a weekend to North Florida, usually along the Santa Fe river.

At least the beach circulates well, even though lately it is beginnig to feel more like a hot tub. I cannot wait to get back to work. I spend an average of 8-10 hours a day in the sun, and I love it. I am usually in the yard when I am typing on here.

38º C (100º F) here in Almada today.

As usual, I spent the day working in a room with 9 computers and no air conditioning. I have only one desk fan.

PS: one of the servers tells me at this moment (19:48) that the air entering it is at 30º C.
