I never bothered with that subject line lol. I'm an idiot!

Yeah me too, I had to learn the hard way...after clicking send 3X. lol

Does everyone know that at the bottom of each page is the DI logo and if you click on it, it will take you back to the top of the page?

Carpy, today I’m in the mood for a Melton Mowbray pork pie.

Here’s a little secret that could get me in trouble with the culinary police…

In the sanctity of my home, I used to heat up those pies in the oven. I’m not much of a jelly fan, so with enough heat, the jelly would melt and the pie took on new life.

I know it’s sacrilegious for a MMPP to be in the same room as an oven, but that’s how I like it. Obviously, in your cafe, I’ll take it at room temp., with some mustard… beggars can’t be choosers!

Cheers

Branston?

Actually, that sounds rather good. I'll try it.
I now know why I am called a grown up. Every time I get up I groan.

Ok, let me know how it goes. Maybe set a new trend and go to jail.

I'll eat Branston, but not a big fan.

I like to see what I'm eating when choosing pickled veggies.

More like Italian Giardiniera pickled vegetables.

That looks good. I pickle my own chillies which go well, too.

I can't seem to find a tin of Heinz vegetable Salad any more, so I make my own.

Dice peeled potato, carrots and boil till Al dente, cool, add tinned peas and mix in salad cream then season and chill.

I made a very nice pasta sauce the other day by mixing jarred Puttanesca (which already has some olives) and mixing in some slightly vinegary pickled mushrooms and also some bacon bits freshly fried. It was really good.

Its a greasy spoon cafe......

Can't be doing with all the hipster shite.

If anyone even so much as mentions anything as atrocious as something like a kale and hummus sandwich I'm going to get myself barred out this establishment!

Seriously though, had a trying couple of days so I could do with some comfort food, perhaps some home made chicken soup with crusty bread followed by a large portion of treacle pudding with lashings of custard......all washed down with seriously strong Yorkshire Tea.

Some songs for the jukebox.

I believe in this and its been tested by research, he who fucks nuns will later join the church.

Not exactly home made, out of a tin?

No treacle pudding. Spotted Dick and custard?

The most disgusting thing I've had was a kale and banana smoothie. What was I thinking? Yuk.
