The Banter Cafe
Some folk may remember this from ATS (RIP).
OK. It's a cafe with no alcohol licence (bring your own is welcome) but feel free to pop in, order some virtual food, put some 'chunes on the jukebox, chill, and indulge in some good old Brit banter.
All welcome, you don't have to be a Brit, but, please, no US politics!
Here you go:

Mug of tea, cream crackers and cheese with Branston pickle, please.
I'll be in the corner doing a cryptic crossword.
Edit: Americans, for reference, this is how you do it. Don't forget the butter. Lots of butter.
(although I prefer the plain Jacob's cream crackers)

One of my favorites.
First heard it in Death Proof. I love that movie!
Mr. Poops: Read a book, it's like broccoli for your brain. (Are you even still around?)

Coming right up!
I used to commute by train to London. Same people every day. There was an unspoken competition to do the Times crossword the quickest.
So one day I joined in. Folded my paper, put it next to me, "Rather easy today.."
Got off at London Bridge and saw one of them reaching for my paper.
Would have seen my scrawling "T*ts" Bum" "W@nk on it " etc.
Their faces next morning were a picture!
My dad used to try to teach me crosswords. And failed.
His favourite clue was "Detectives parachute in. Sweet. 4, 4"
Any takers?
I now know why I am called a grown up. Every time I get up I groan.

How about another clue? Does it have anything to do with Sherlock Holmes and Baker Street?

Oi! You gonna sit there all night tapping away or are you going to order something? I recommend a bacon sarnie and a mug of builder'tea.

I am extremely picky with my food and drink - a restaurant's nightmare, why?, because I am a very good cook and they can't seem to do better.
So please explain in specific terms what is a bacon sarnie and builder'tea before I order it. Thanks.
Edit: I looked those up. I'm not in the food for either of those choices.
So is the food here pub food or gastro pub food?
I brought my own wine spritzer and would love a side plate of feta cheese and black olives, that would hit the spot. Thank you.
