Actually, I use, washing up liquid and twelve garlic cloves boiled in a litre of water and then drained and put in a sprayer. Coffee grounds round the plants to keep the slugs and snails away.

I actually worked for Sainsbury's for three years in my late teens, eventually told them to piss off...
