Snow Expected 12/13 & 12/14 - Predictions
#1
So we are expecting our first measurable snow this season.
(I'm in the mid atlantic)
Wanna' know what the different weather stations/services/forums are saying for amounts ...

Dusting
1 inch
1-3 inches
3 inches
2-4 inches
4 inches
3-6 inches

They all get the same weather information from the same weather equipment.
These people all  have the same degrees from meteorology schools.
But they can't agree.
This happens every year.
Meteorology ... being a 'weatherman' or 'weatherwoman' is the best job to have.
You can endlessly suck at it but keep your job because you just blame the
weather equipment and the computer.

ARG!   Lol

I guess Mother Nature didn't go to the same meteorology schools and doesn't use their equipment, either. So, they can blame Her, too.

Go directly where the forecasters go

Between

https://www.weather.gov/forecastpoints

 and

Mike's Weather page

https://spaghettimodels.com/default.htm

https://www.ventusky.com/wind-gusts-map/...ecmwf_hres

should have all of them covered

But I love Ventusky's weather maps with multiple models zoom to your address and see exactly what's forecasted from most global and regional models

Ha! I’m in the NWT for the next 3 weeks so I’m expecting snow and cold.
in fact it’s -36°C here right now and I was blown away by the amount of Asian tourists who fly here just to see the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

It’s bananas how much money they spend to come see the phenomenon. I grew up in Alberta so it was a regular occurrence. Just go outside and away from the city lights and there you go.

Stay warm and shovel with the health of your back in mind!

If it’s hot, wet and sticky and it’s not yours, don’t touch it!

Thumbup   Good stuff.  I'll check it all out.
I go to weather forums in the winter.
They seem to know better than the weather channel, etc.

You know, if passing through Atlanta I recommend to people that instead of a hotel, they spend $40 for a 24-hour pass at this Korean Spa:
https://jejusauna.com/

It's amazing, with like a dozen different beautiful meditation saunas, a food court, sleeping areas, workout room, and full Korean spa with steam room, hot and cold plunging pools and basking areas.

One thing that's fun to do is go right from a Swedish-style super hot steam sauna into an almost-freezing plunging pool, and alternate back and forth a few times. Incredibly invigorating.

It occurs to me that this is how you seem to live your life alternating between Canada and Mexico, on a thousand-mile scale.

Try this.  It is an app on my Android, but it looks like this link works on desktops.
You can zoom into your house location.
Seems pretty accurate.  Been using it on Android for a few months.

I think Windy.com is the best resource, and it works great on PC or any smartphone.  You can  also select from a bunch of model databases.

It is extremely good a storm tracking, especially Hurricanes.

I rarely watch the local weather

Im a bit of a hurricane news junkie. I love storm2k.com boards, but not sure how extensive thier winter storm coverage is

I use that as well, but mostly to track wind events.
