It's not all its cracked-up to be...

Not active, I presume! There's a story needs told!

Nah, not an active one, but not entirely dormant, either. They still move a bit and there's heat and stuff happening, too.

I used to walk up and down and to and fro in the Earth, on the Mangere Domain

The inner walls of the cones are quite steep, and quite smooth, and covered in grass.

I tried to look at something just over the lip of the rim, and slipped. Once moving, there was almost nothing to arrest movement, and so I slipped down about halfway.

When I did stop, I was still on the side of the slope and there was nothing to hold on to, so I decided it was best to continue my slide down to the bottom, where I could stand up and walk. All in all, I suspect I slipped down for about 380 feet.

So, I got up feeling sore and grazed and rather stupid, but there wasn't much physical damage (other than torn trousers).

And I don't think many other people can say they have fallen into a volcano, so, there's that.

Lol

Auckland is made out of volcanoes, and I must admit, I am fascinated by the geology and especially lava tubes. And there's weird stuff that you can find around volcanoes if you look hard enough. Good exercise, too.

Anyone else think so? What are your preferences?

Do you launch the bodies after, say, cremation, or do you just launch them totally unprocessed?

(Warning not for the squeamish!)

You let birds do it! The big ones get the big bits then the rest is mixed with meal for the crows. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_burial

Although I do like burial at sea as an alternative too. I had a friend once who said that when his time came, he'd just go up a mountain and not come down. Let nature take care of things.

It's origins seem to sadly be due to an inability to bury their dead due to permafrost nor cremation due to being above the tree line, therefore the lack of fuel to burn. Sad.
