I think it's a great fake.
As to a trail, said vid was uploaded back in 2011 to YouTube by a user named "ivan0135."
The account being notably sparse, lacking a profile picture, description, or any prior video history.
Aside from that, there is not really much to go on as far as im aware.
Edit: by the looks of it there is some ambiguity about when the videos became widely know.
With some sources claiming the footage may have originated a lot earlier, possibly as far back as 1990s
Back when it first arrived on ATS, there was lots rumours but no real proof of when it first appeared and by whom, but a good way of covering it's origins is claim you're reposting it instead of being the actual originator.

Well, whoever was responsible for its creation, i think it's a safe bet they are rather talented to say the least.
Fascinating piece of work.

I don't know why but I always get a CGI enhanced puppet vibe. Like how a new version of Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet would look.

I get a kind of stop-motion puppet vibe myself.
And if the video is indeed from as far back as the 90s.
The CGI revolution did begin back then.

That is a great video isn't it?

Got to disagree with you. This may be pivotal. This is probably part of the long disinformation campaing, with expensive fakes such as MJ-12 docs, the autopsy of the Alien (which used expensive props and special footage), Bob Lazar, among others. So they run the trouble to make this one as well. Now you get my point? i am holding it as a strong hypothesis.

Yes, that creates more mystery and more confusion to the mix. But to me this is pure horseshit.

I got that, however, the main scene, is very difficult to emulate mechanically. I think it is Mesh warp, like I demonstrated in the video, plus the expensive track motion, to get all the facial points that are moving, and adapt to the points of the mesh warp. Meaning, it is a person behind prosthetic make up.

I thought that too. Maybe a puppet enhanced with CGI is my opinion.

Stop-motion puppet animation uses props.
It's perfectly okay to disagree, I'm just not quite sure how we disagree.
