The FBI is investigating Minnesota Signal chats tracking ICE, Patel says

FBI Director Kash Patel said Monday that he had opened an investigation into the Signal group text chats that Minnesota residents are using to share information about federal immigration agents’ movements, launching a new front in the Trump administration’s conflict there with potential free speech implications.
“The Constitution takes precedence over any conflicting state or federal law, and over any official’s desire to suppress speech they dislike,” he said in his email.
He added: “There is a First Amendment exception for speech intended and likely to provoke imminent unlawful action, but that doesn’t apply to just any speech the government claims puts officials in harm’s way. By contrast, if individuals are threatening federal agents or conspiring to physically harm them, that is illegal. But conspiracy requires an agreement to commit a specific crime and a substantial step toward carrying it out.”
Patel also said the FBI had made “substantial progress” in an investigation into groups and people responsible for funding resistance to immigration enforcement. He alleged that the protests and neighborhood monitoring are “not happening organically” but did not immediately provide evidence.
 

I know the current rumor is that there might have been local government involvement, however no actual evidence of that has really been presented unless someone has something they would like to share.

What is clear is that the protests do seem to have a group of people that are coordinating at a high level and it explains things we have seen at other protest events where a truck load of gas masks just shows up, or large amounts of food being dropped off.

The ICE agitators have actually been fairly open about using apps and other digital resources to communicate quickly to members of what is going on and where so they can show up as quickly as possible. 

The question is do you think this coordinated effort constitutes active warfare or is just some new but legal form guerrilla activism?

I thought the point of signal chats is that it is encrypted, and the messages are automatically erased.

I thought that reporting and tracking of ICE was abandoned a week or so ago. A lot of ICE supporters were signing up and reporting them as being everywhere. Confusing everyone about their actual locations.

Around the 10 minute mark it is mentioned that the chats had been infiltrated but it did sound like they were still using some I think they just vet the people better who get access now.

I would like to say throwing frozen water bottles is not peaceful that is very dangerous. 

Agents of these NGO organizations follow O'keefe and crew to keep tabs on him and send death threats like they are KGB yet claim ICE is gestapo.

These people are in fact at war this in not a peaceful first amendment protest it is in fact insurrection.

Indeed it is a common riot tactic, because frozen water bottles are deniable as a weapon if found with them in cold weather, unlike bricks, and if collected as evidence of assault are "self-disappearing" unless carefully documented with tagged photographic evidence, thus easier to weasel out of charges for hurling.

I've heard it referred to as a "Cold Civil War", but I don't think that's entirely accurate when what are essentially paramilitaries are directly engaging in politically violence.

It's a quasi-Cold Civil War with quasi retarded and amateurish guerrilla protesting tactics occasionally peppered in here and there
