is it established that the altercation was racially motivated? i haven't seen any evidence of that.

lots of evidence that narratives around the event are racially motivated however.

They call him "kid basher" amongst other things because of the colour of his skin, and the current temperature of our nation, with immigrants being demonised right, left, and centre, by a certain demographic.  

And in the beginning of the story, words like "Pakistani Muslim Rape Gangs" were getting chucked around, again that would have been down to the colour of the man's skin.

Turned out that he was Bulgarian, not Pakistani, and not part of any rape gangs, merely out and about with his partner. 

It was racially motivated imho, but i guess that will be determined by the children's panel, evidence, and witness statements provided.

Well, that would be his sister, allegedly, and not him, so.....

Put it this way, do you imagine if they had come across a white couple, it would have gone down in the same manner it transpired?

My bet is probably not.

Nor would anybody be complaining if a white fellow had decided to film little neds charging around armed to the teeth or give the video to the Police.

Point of fact, he would probably be praised for doing so as opposed to demonised for simply doing what the Police would have encouraged.

oh i'm not disagreeing with you about whether people there are racist or biased or whatever, only questioning if the motive here in the incident itself was racial. the surrounding narrative pick-up and hay-making is obviously so.

but interesting point, and it isn't clear from video or news, is was his sister there alongside him while filming this? i dunno. perhaps not all of the yelling she's doing is directed at him? it's unclear, as is the truth about her sister being attacked. although it's pretty clear she was? perhaps out of view of the store cameras?

Shrugs. I don’t think a kid would call a guy a kid basher because of his skin color. And I can’t find any evidence of it being an actual slang term in use in the UK.  Maybe it’s the latest in slurs. But the video makes the context as used kind of obvious.

They didn't confiscate his phone for the video evidence! They would ask to see said video, and if relevant asked for a copy.  If he had YouTube on phone, he could of posted it any time after the incident.

May I ask how old you are, and do you use a mobile phone? Anyone 30 and under live on social media and are constantly posting to TikTok, Youtube and FaceBook. GenZ post what they're drinking, eating, watching, it's an addiction for them.

Then ask for a copy of the security footage from the business and place it online.

I think the Police will have established a lot more than has been released and a timeline that explains what took place on the evening in question. 

That's not really information we are likely to become privy to.

Same as if there are other witness statements and CCTV evidence which most likely corroborate the man's story and hence the arrest. 

For all we know, that little group is known to Police.

And given the TikTok you posted, which clearly shows them hanging about town centres, doing what neds do, tooled up with hammers, stolen fire extinguishers, committing crime, that may very well be the case.

Kicking about parks with hatchets and knives, racially abusing people, is indeed uneducated and delinquent, that's why.

All countries have a few kids that lack the ability to communicate and act out in anger. Parents that aren't 'parents' or mixing with the wrong crowd.
