Using a knife and an axe in "self defence" against a supposed unarmed assailant is not a defence likely to succeed.
I said people should carry pepper spray not potentially lethal weapons, nice attempt at twisting my words though! Let’s not forget an unarmed man will easily overpower children, so carrying pepper spray as a precaution against a potential attack is a smart thing to do. That’s all I’m saying, I don’t condone brandishing lethal weapons.

They watched the movie Natural Born Killers too often?
Live in a crappy district where if your not fighting tough your a mark?
They had to face real harassment?
It could be all the above.
Added. I think it’s mostly having to be fighting tough or you get taken advantage of with lots of witnessing real harassment.
How do you know what's normal in Scotland or Dundee when you dont live here?
And they are 12/14 years old, you have them watching movies from 1995, im apt to ponder they dont even know who Christian Slater is, never mind the movie in question.
Neds are all over our towns and streets and causing all sorts of chaos and committing crimes daily.
As the statistics, and video evidence i have presented in this thread clearly show.
You did watch those vids?
Again, there is a reason carrying offensive weapons is prohibited, and it's clearly evident.
You're trying to justify their actions, and the thing is, you clearly would not let your own daughter act like that, so.....

Well, if it's not in their hand, they may not have time to produce the stuff.
I dont necessarily think you're wrong with the pepper spray angle, all the same.
Lethal weapon through, aye, they are a no'no, and for obvious reasons.

How about working on en environment so young girls aren’t pushed into the emotional equivalent of the US dropping nuclear bombs on Japan to protect themselves. They don’t care about right or wrong when they feel it’s about not being violated or just surviving.

Im not saying anything, he's the one who made a statement.
I think you may find the Police attended and resolved the issue, so.....
As to witnesses, how do you know there were none?
For all you know, they gave statements to the police that supported the CCTV and video evidence given by the man who called them.
You are jumping to conclusions, and without any evidence to support said conclusions i may add.
Police attended and did their job.
And that's all she wrote.
So you can be charged for assault even when no actual assault took place? I highly doubt it, surely there is another charge for that?
you’re not saying anything? You have said a great deal in this thread.
As for the rest the same can be applied to you. You don’t know the events, background that lead to this incident it’s all assuming.
All I asked was that was his sister charged with assault for punching one of the girls? If not why not? That’s all I want to know at this point.

How do you know what they care about?
My bet is if they knew right from wrong, they would not be carrying knives and axes.
Or being brought home by the Police, so.....
And what kind of environment are we talking about, It's still a first-world nation, with rules of law and order, just like your own, only all grown up.

Calling it how you see it is hardly wrong.
And if they were educated, they would know better so....
Delinquents go about carrying weapons and hurting innocent people.
What part of me calling them non-educated delinquents is it you take issue with or find incorrect?
Keeping in mind they are walking the streets armed to the teeth....

Evidently being tough enough in a high crime area not to be taken advantage and more worried about just surviving than right or wrong.

You got me thinking. Organizations will hand out condoms to teenagers? But not offer self defense classes in most schools or pepper spray? What’s that say about our society?
