I once made an argument the first trimester prenatal test should be called the "Erstwhile Xenial Post Eugenic Retard Screen for Objectivist Normalcy" (EXPERSON) but nobody liked my idea because mocking trisomy and abortion is cruel, and Facebook couldn't ever take a damn joke..

Plus they thought I was some pro-lifer and it backfired.

But it took the USA a while to get over doing it. We did eugenics until Almost Reagan.

Which to some, means we practiced selective genocide until 1979.

But between 1970 and 1976 we tried to sterilize 25% to 50% of Native American women to control their growth. With estimates between 30,000 and 70,000 actually sterilized. 

California alone did over 20,000 between 1909 and 1979 in mostly the black and latino community.  With another 50,000 done nationwide, not counting the indigenous women in the 70s. 

The things you decide to learn all about when it becomes more relevant. And then remember how messed up your country has been to EVERYTHING WITH MELANIN almost it's entire existence.

As is bioethicist Peter Singer's argument in favor of 'infanticide' stating that 'there is no relevant difference between abortion and the killing of severely disabled infants'.

You've also got insane bioethicists Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva actually promoting infanticide via 'after-birth abortion' arguing that 'the moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus'.

...  A Nazi-affiliated eugenicist with an interest in racial hygiene, he was an advocate of compulsory sterilization programs in the first half of the 20th century. Among his many students was Josef Mengele, a war criminal who directed medical experiments at Auschwitz.
 
He successfully redefined himself as a geneticist in the postwar era. During the 1950s and 1960s, he was known for research on the effects of nuclear radiation on humans and for his warnings against the possibility of creating "scientifically improved" human beings offered by genetic science.
