Though it is tempting to jump to the “fake” or “set-up”, I am not there yet. And if it is NOT fake or a setup, the Feds will be pressing charges. Assaulting a US Representative is a serious federal offense. That said, if the Feds don’t charge the suspect, multiple red flags will be raised. And when the Feds do charge him, and if it was in fact a set-up, I presume we will hear the suspect claim that sooner than later.

The FBI needs to launch an investigation into this incident and have Ilhan Omar file a report. If this incident is fake, Omar’s lies to the FBI would be criminal.

Republicans speak out about the attack.
Quote:What happened at Rep. Ilhan Omar’s town hall — where she was sprayed with a substance during the event — is completely unacceptable. Regardless of political views, we should all agree this behavior crosses a line and cannot be tolerated,” Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) said in a post on the social platform X. Quote:Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), a GOP firebrand, also expressed her disapproval of the Omar incident.
“I am deeply disturbed to learn that Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked at a town hall today. Regardless of how vehemently I disagree with her rhetoric – and I do – no elected official should face physical attacks. This is not who we are,” Mace posted on X.
And of course
Quote:Trump responded to the attack by suggesting without evidence that Omar had staged it. The Minnesota Democrat has become a frequent target of the president.
“I don’t think about her. I think she’s a fraud,” Trump told ABC News. “She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her.”
Opinions appear mixed.

It's just the idea that Omar didn't have everyone there vetted beforehand is very hard to believe, as well as not having her security closer to her like she does when giving a speech at the US Capital Building seems off, not to mention the head nod before the "attack".
If she got hit in the face and/or the guy put up a fist fight, then I would have had a second opinion about this, but as is it looks staged.
This is so damage-control-timed it's not even funny.
She is implicated BIG TIME in all the fraud, with actual paper trails, and is already on the record for Anti-American statements. How in the hell did she ever get let into office?
Oh that's right, the whole thing is corrupt. Doesn't matter which side.
Anyway, this is some 'look over here ' distraction crap.

This could actually have been some wacko idea of getting back at her.................but I'd keep a close eye on his bank account for the next few months.
He may be getting disability, but to a certain extent, you can work if you're disabled. I'd be interested to see where he finds a job and who he's working for.
Maybe he'll get a job in daycare management.

Old money is not happy, but the scam isn't just in Minnesota; they were just the ones who kept going back to the cookie jar.

Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes,
says Ilhan Omar and her husband are running a money laundering operation
Ilhan Omar’s husbands investment firm was looked into,
THERE IS NO RECORDS OF THEM MANAGING MONEY, “NO CLIENTS”
“His investment firm — It’s DC headquarters appear to share office space at a WeWork.
There's no track record of his firm managing money, doing M&A deals, no clients we see, no investment deals or any work it's done.
They say they do work in 80 nations operating in.
There's no SEC registrations for them as investment advisers. What is going on here?
This increasingly looks sketchy, both the winery and his investment firm.
Yeah, the winery may not exist and the firm may be just a really a name only”
“It’s amazing how people can go into Congress and then become these entrepreneurial investing geniuses,
where they come in, she had under $1,000 of net worth, and her husband didn't have much, and suddenly now they're multimillionaires.
Is there a money laundering operation here — something is not right”
“That $30 million came from sources that are illegal, period”

I can't find any examples of Forbes actually saying any of what is quoted.
Have you seen any published claims other than on X?

OK this is just idle curiosity and my logistics side showing, but if you wanted to spray something more effectively and farther, why didn't he get a little toy water gun? Or even like a turkey baster or any other myriad of devices? A syringe seems very weird and weak. I don't think security was obviously that tight. Maybe they saw it and he said it was for diabetes? hmmmmm
Anyway.. .
She deserves to be in jail.

According to his neighbor, he was heavily medicated do to some health issue. In other articles it was claimed he had also been arrested for due twice, and he also suffered from Parkinson's disease.
In the video, he appeared intoxicated to me. I don't know if Parkinson's could explain away some of his demeanor.
Add to that the stress divorce and bankruptcy, he probably was not in a great place mentally.
Obviously he was not making great decisions. But it may have been easy to sneak a small plastic syringe past security. Something more effective, may have been more noticeable.

No worries ... one click on the Grok icon at the link provided reveals the source as a Fox News interview.

Ilhan Omar’s husbands investment firm was looked into, THERE IS NO RECORDS OF THEM MANAGING MONEY, “NO CLIENTS”
“His investment firm — It’s DC
- Steve Forbes, in a recent Fox News interview, questions Rep. Ilhan Omar's wealth surge from under $1,000 to $30 million, alleging her husband Tim Mynett's investment firm Rose Lake lacks clients, SEC registration, and operates from WeWork space, suggesting money laundering via shell entities like a questionable California winery.
- This claim aligns with ongoing federal and House probes into Omar's finances, triggered by a $250 million Minnesota food aid fraud scandal in her district involving Somali nonprofits, where no direct ties to her have been proven but unexplained asset valuations in disclosures fuel scrutiny.
- Historical context includes 2019 FEC complaints over Omar paying Mynett's E Street Group $230,000 in campaign funds for consulting, raising conflict-of-interest concerns, though cleared; current reports show his firms owing over $400,000 in back taxes to Delaware and D.C.
