We're on page four now, and things have calmed down since I did my running. I am hoping any new posts I make will go unnoticed since I'm not replying to any particular poster.
I did notice someone had to get the last word right after I left. Like I already stated, some people can't handle sarcasm, so I guess that is as good an excuse as any to place blame elsewhere.

You have to be you. That is your only choice. You appear open to opinions that differ from yours. That is a good thing. Blame doesn't matter. Fault doesn't matter. Whatever happens to each of us is ultimately our responsibility.

In fact it is impossible to prove any thought is from the conscious. It could all be coming from the subconscious.
You tube has some interesting selective perception videos.
I believe media and social media have a found a way to manipulate this process, making some people impervious, to any information they dislike.
Interesting. Social media manipulation as a cause, a subject worth investigating on its own.

I am what I am. I have Detroit to thank for that, where the weak are killed and eaten.
I'm wise to the street and have gotten the "buddy treatment" so many times, I refuse to take it any longer. No one can piss on me and tell me it's raining because I don't fall for bullshit anymore, not at my age. So if my tactics and demeanor seems rude, it is. I am open minded though, and some things are simply undeniable, just don't blow smoke up my ass and expect me to say "thank you".

Your tactics don't seem rude to me. Your manner seems frank, and undisguised. I like that. Everyone should like that. Some of us are the same online as we are in R/L, because we simply don't give a shit about other people's judgements. I care about the views of those few who are close to me and mine. Outside of my immediate circle, everything is just background buzz. I like frank discussions and I like talking with people to find out what they think. I think there was a time where we were all more willing to encourage open discussions. I think politics has invaded much of our collective thoughts, and that has severely polarized people, beginning in 2008 and markedly ramping up since them. Some people are apparently willing to do violence on others in the name of their political views. I think they are cowards. Only cowards hide in the thickness of a crowd.
Well, JMVHO.

@ argentus
I forget you are a "super moderator", perhaps I was being too candid and testing the limits with my antics. Then again, I haven't been spanked for my shenanigans, so I have yet to feel the sharp stinging smack on my bare bum once again.
Ah yes, the good old days when we had corporal punishment with the paddle and Mom's favorites like the willow switch and the largest tennis shoe in the house worn by my older brother. Dad would come home from work and all of us were lined up for a good wood shedding. Those were the days.
Dad: "I don't know what you did, but your mother said you need ten swats.
Me: "Umm, Ah, Umm, sob."
Dad: "ONE!" (Swat!)
Me: "AHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHHH!"
Dad: "TWO! . . ."

See, when any of us are participating in a thread, we can't action it. So, this is me, the DI member, and you and the rest of the DI members that have posted on this thread.
The thing is, I haven't observed any "antics". I think you are straightforward and say what you think. Respect [fistbump]
ETA: I didn't like it at the time, but on retrospect, I think corporal punishment achieved what it was intended to, and in the process, made most of us better people. Behavioral conditioning. We didn't risk that twice.

I preferred the swats, it was easier than a week or more of restrictions. One and done, plus Dad held back for the set of ten and we played it up to keep Mom happy.
Well, pretty close to five pages now and I have managed to post enough off-topic comments to push my own thread down the spiral slide into oblivion. Like Old Blue Eyes said, "I did it my way".

You certainly did.

I am guilty of derangement syndrome, not reading or getting the point the OP was trying to make to go off on some emotionally charged topic.
Getting called out for being a noob and not keeping up with things helps keep it in check. That is what discussions are about, help sharpen that dull blade of ignorance.
