The thing about claiming it must have been ""other people"" who had access to the laptop and are responsible.

Is that the offences are alleged to have taken place back in March, 2021.

When "Raise the Colours" was not even a thing as far as i seem to recall. 

So God knows who all these people are that he alleges had access to the device.

I imagine they must be a very specific few.

Considering the UK was in a strict national lockdown throughout March of 2021.

It's odd that he keeps trying to figure out how that content ended up on his computer when he must know forensics can prove guilt one way or the other. 

Was his laptop bought used?

The group may not have formed in 2021, but these particular types of people could have still been meeting and doing who knows what type of sharing of data within that group.

There are so many questions that need answering.

I just watched a true crime video where police got a search warrant for an old man doing what he considered to be role playing with a mother and her underaged son and sending another discord used nude pics of himself and his wife.

The judge dismissed the role playing charges, which the perp said he thought was not really engaging in actual sexual acts. It boggles the mind.

It's most likely just an attempt at finding someone else to blame, but some years ago there was a man (I think it was in the UK) that was caught with child porn on his computer and said he was innocent and that it must have someone else to put it there. Forensic analysis found that he did have a trojan horse (or something like it) on his computer so it was not possible to be sure who had been responsible for the images.

As far as i understand it, a Trojan that quietly fetches kiddie porn images, in a way that leaves no other evidence, is relatively unlikely compared to the other explanations.

And i imagine even back then, investigators would have been all over the browsing history.

The download logs, file timestamps, and browser cache, the same way, they will all be over Ben Cullen's laptop.

The system probably showed signs of compromise.
