Another sad loss for the acting industry...
I always enjoyed his work... R.I.P. sir, and thank you for the memories.

Can't remember a film he was in where he didn't play a pivotal role, and that he was enjoyed. I really liked him in Falling Down and Open Range.

For some reason ... The Great Santini strikes me as one of his best roles... but you're right... He brought the gift whenever he performed.

His roles covered a great deal of our history. Always liked every film I saw him in.

This one hits hard. Secondhand Lions is a family favorite in our house, and Lonesome Dove has been my favorite mini series / movie , for as long as I can remember.
