RANT - Changing Clocks Twice a Year
#1
Yep ... it's that time of year again.
In 4 weeks we change clocks back an hour.
Then in four months we change them ahead an hour.

UGH!

Just leave the clocks alone!
So what if it's darker or lighter at certain times of the day?
That's life.  Suck it up.

It was claimed that the clock change could save money
somehow.  Maybe with energy usage.  I can't remember.
But I haven't seen claims of that lately.   Was it ever real?

Changing clocks messes with sleep.
It screws up pets and their 'doing business' schedule.
Babies and their naps don't know about the time change.
It's a pain in the neck to change all the clocks.

Side note ... at the risk of bringing up politics outside the politics forum ...
Trump campaigned on ending the clock changes.   He said he'd get rid of it.
Now he's saying he can't because the country is split about when to have
the clocks perm. ... on daylight savings time or not.     ARGH!!!

yeah, there are bigger things to complain about but every so often
a bit of a whine is good for you.  So there it is.   Lol

The whole clock changing thing was an attempt to improve coordination over a large region...

then we made into a control tool to tell you how to live your life...

weird.

Let's just use one time zone like China does. We could use for example GMT, like our parent country England, with a 24 hour clock. Then opening/closing times and such would be local to each state or town. Simple!

And who looks at the sun any more, anyway? It was much nicer on the timeline where it was a happy yellow, rather than the white LED currently hanging in the sky.

You noticed that, eh?

It is discernibly harsher recently here...

If any change were implemented I'd rather a 24 hour clock than some weird 'political consensus' product.

At least they can't contrive how AM is sexist, and PM is racist... or whatever.

The ONLY thing worse than switching back and forth each year....is keeping to same Daylight Savings Time all year.

I could live with going back to the pre-DST thing.

But NO....some loons think it's better to have DST all year.....DUH....
Do these folks know that winter days are short and we need light in the morning.
Can you imagine in the winter having it be dark at 9AM???? [Image: ats2486_banghead.gif]

You know this itty bitty island I live on called the UK, well I used to live in Aberdeen, Scotland, and that's only half way up Scotland...... Well, even with DST it was still darkish at 9am and never lit up properly all day!

Ha! Northern Canada the sun won’t come back up until the spring!

Time change doesn’t matter here much.

Mexico stopped changing time a couple years back. It’s a pain in the ass when we do and we’re all of a sudden an hour different.

Cayman Islands here.  We don't change time.   You all sure do screw with our TV programming times, though.   When looking for American football games, I have to keep asking my Bride, "honeeey?  What time are we on again, Central or Eastern?"    First world problems.
