Eating grass

The rest looks like woo woo to me.

Your not doing the scientific method, you are disproving not proving. Do you think this is what scientists do, sit there and disprove things?  They work their asses off to try and prove a theory and build something and get paid mega bucks for it.

Looking like woo woo is exactly the point. How do you hide things?

I'm surprised they have not developed a method to remove the lignin and sell grass as a health food yet.

Things are not being hidden if there are logical explanations by empirical science to explain it, such as what I posted, those being, our primordial evolutionary history of grass eating, our cravings for eating dirt e.g. as in pregnancy and/or bodily deficiencies.

If reasonable explanations did not exist then all we would have left to consider would be the woo woo reasons.

Ravenwatcher Well, Wheatgrass is already marketed as a superfood.
Quote:Wheatgrass is the name of the young grass of a wheat plant. It is a thick, dry grass that looks like hay or straw but is bright green. It plays a role in natural and holistic medicine, and eating or consuming it may have some health benefits.

When I was in Canada, a wellness place grew it in their shop, cut it and made fresh juice shots.

Things that seem plausible from the earlier posts.  I'm sure there is more, personality traits and things.
  • Eating strange things
  • Unusual growth patterns
  • Unusual appetites
  • Excessive crying or eerie silence
  • Sudden personality changes.
  • Apathy or detachment from loved ones.
  • Sudden knowledge of strange languages or wisdom they shouldn’t know.
  • Sleepwalking into nature
  • Unusual sensitivity to animals or nature
  • Sudden illnesses or fevers followed by wisdom
  • Suddenly disappearing and reappearing
For quintessentone benefit, the next step would be to start scoring and matching items listed with known cases and look for patterns.

I'm sure this has been done. If anyone knows of such a list please share.

A lot of explanations can most likely be found within the psychology, neurology and biological sciences.

I don't really understand what you are saying. If you are thinking I'm implying eating disorders are caused by aliens then you are on the wrong track completely.

We also don't just look at one thing in psychology, neurology and biological sciences and declare someone has an illness.

Quote:The importance of looking at all symptoms can be illustrated by comparing the common cold and allergies, which share several symptoms but have different causes and treatments.
Both conditions can cause:
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Sneezing
  • Sore throat
  • Coughing
At first glance, they might seem like the same illness, but key differences help distinguish them:
  • Fever occurs sometimes with a cold but never with allergies.
  • Body aches are common with a cold but not with allergies.
  • Itchy eyes are rare in a cold but very common in allergies.
  • Duration differs—colds typically last 7 to 10 days, while allergies can persist for weeks or months if exposure continues.
  • Cause is different: Colds are caused by a virus, while allergies are an immune system reaction to allergens like pollen or dust.
Why This MattersSomeone with a runny nose and sneezing might assume they have a cold, but if they also have itchy eyes and no fever, it’s more likely allergies. Misdiagnosing could lead to taking the wrong medication—cold medicine won’t help allergies, and antihistamines won’t cure a cold.
This example shows why it's important to consider all symptoms before making a diagnosis—focusing on just one or two can lead to the wrong conclusion!

I'm also reconsidering if there is wisdom in this thread.

You're approximately 14,000 years too late.

Our modern wheat is actually a human-bred grass, and humans were eating cooked grass some 14,000 years ago

They'd have been eating the grains before that, though.
