I'll disagree with this point. Putin has everything to gain from a collapsed Iran. The amount of resources alone make this a good thing for Russia, if Russia can move in and assist the people stabilize their country before China can worm their way in and try and China'ize it. I doubt the US will be able to get a good faith foot hold in Iran, so Russia might be the best bet for the Persians living in Iranian boarders. While the Tehranians I suspect will flee to Iraq since everywhere else is a death sentence.

If played out right, Russia gains everything, but like I said if China gets in there then a new mess for the world will start up.

I always fear making flat out assertions about the whole "Iran's relationship with China and Russia" idea...
We often discover that there was a lot of 'backroom dealing' and 'unacknowledged diplomacy' that goes on.

The US has begun hammering the topic via media news cycle 'use.'

But aren't we in the very middle of an impending violent conflict with another oil-producing country at this very moment?

Now this 'old news' antagonism rises to 'speculation' in media?

Ummm,... old guy here.... I'm smelling ancient bullshit in a new wrapper.

The centralization of energy resources (petroleum) is the final end of this entire screen-play... it's predictable.

I do feel badly for those very fed-up Iranian people... they actually remember a better life... without the "hate the west" activism mindset... they were doing very well... until... "everyone not us" became the enemy. (Hmmm...)

Good!

I’ll believe when I see it happen for real.

I’m not trying to be a wet blanket, but I would really like to see the Iranian people do it organically. Not some sort of outsider influence bs.

I remember when they had a great culture and were extremely cosmopolitan. F’in organized religion messes everything up. It’s always been about power and control. Every religion is the same.

Here’s hoping for an actual non violent revolution.
