I thought the UK law states that the minimum age for sex is 16? Virginia was 17 at the time of her rape. So why would he lose his titles at all?
I'm not condoning his behavior. Just stating the facts.

It's pretty much the damage to the monarchy's reputation which is the reason for him losing the patronages and titles.
The problem wasn't so much the age, which is still a massive issue imho.
But the context, coercion, trafficking, and his association with Epstein.

He's not been stripped of his titles, he's giving them up as per statement released.
As to keeping his title of Prince. Charles would have to write a letters patent as they are called and then it would have to go before Parliament. So yes, it is doable.
Bet he's sweating now as I suspect there will be a few more revelations in Virginia's book due for release next week. The rest of the Royals will be privy to anything in the book relating to Andrew, but his association with Epstein and by default anything about Epstein will be proven to be the last straw which has now forced him to 'resign' as it were.
He'll still continue to live at Royal Lodge. But I can't see how he will be able to aford the repairs let alone the rent.
I would be surprised if Charles is paying his rent as he's the one who tried chucking him out. But if he is, as another poster implied, then the press will find out, and that wont look good on Charles.
His 'position' had become totally untenable.
