I hope the citizens were OK with it... and not just the media drones.
Not all citizens of Australia were happy with it. I wasn't at the time. I still believe that the Governor General acted with insufficient reason and under the pressure of, and fed misinformation by, the CIA and governmental opposition.
But it does demonstrate how a monarchy can protect the constitutional democracy of a federated state from falling into tyranny, and also without bloodshed.
In the case of the dismissal of the Whitlam government in Australia, I thought that the government's ultimate goals were initially good, but it became obvious that they were sourcing funding from dubious sources, to which they had become beholden, and once you start down a slippery slope, you usually fall heavily. That being said, I am unsure that the Whitlam government would have had issues except due to the opposition blocking supply and causing the funding deficit.

"Now then, now then," it's not any sort of excuse or justification, but it is a valid point.

Story Here
Sounds like gossip to me but ... just what would a King 'exiling' his brother look like in the modern world? Ship him off to Australia? Or just tell him he's no longer welcome at court and that he can keep living rent free on one of the many royal estates? News articles say Charles is actually paying Andrews rent because Andrew has so screwed up his finances that he can't afford it.
Send him to Detroit.
'l'll just check my Giveashitometer....Nope. Nothing...

Aren't there a few small deserted Scottish Islands?? That way, we can be sure he doesn't go back to his disgusting ways.

I'm not condoning his behavior. Just stating the facts.
It's his lying through his teeth that pisses a lot of us Brits off.
That and the fact that he is an arrogant, self entitled, fat sweaty turd
