Prepper Tips Welcome
#51
This is the water filtration system I am working on right now to construct - just waiting for family members to get me free food grade restaurant buckets and lots of 'em. I think I will not bother with installing a water spigot - keeping it simple. I will be buying clean sand and pebbles so I don't have to go to the trouble of boiling anything.

I will be buying organic hardwood charcoal from the hardware store and grind it up, then activate it via a 25% lemon juice in water (ratio of 1:25 lemon juice to water, from my jarred lemons in salt brine) to make a paste, let it dry, then rinse it, then bake it (via oven or fire or BBQ with and without briquettes) at 250 degrees for 30 minutes, then store it in an airtight container (probably in one of those food grade buckets).

This is the easiest bucket filtration system I've seen so far, for those who are interested.

I havnt read every post here and I wouldnt remember wanway, but has the discussion about EFI vs carburetors vs Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fule injection system?

Some preppers I use to kow had a carby fed car in case of EMP taking out EFI, so this brings us to the glorious K-jet....

I'll let myself out

They say laughter is the best medicine, so keep it up.

As for that car filled with some gas, just sitting in the driveway, while we are hunkered down in place...it can be hooked up to an inverter and provide the temporary means to power that CPAP machine, a computer, or a heater, or anything that you might need powered in the short term.

This video explains quite a bit about it.

Yep, you'rre right, the Bosch K-Jetronic is the best for every application. Both Lamborghini and Ferrari even used two of them, one for each bank in that era....

Seriously tho, because of its simplicity(one you know your way around it) it can run onn LPG, LNG, all grades of ethanol as well as gasoline with only little adjustments with a 3mm alen key. Its not something you want to retro fit to cars uf non k-jet pedigree, but the  Volvos of the K-jet era are indestructible.
