Both the left and right.
You spend $50 on a pair of sneakers ... you expect them to last more than four months.
Geeeze.
They make jeans with the holes in the knees, it would be nice if they would make sneakers with holes in the toe area to make me feel more normal. I usually keep my old worn out tennies to wear when I do work on cars or in the garden so I don't get my dress sneakers too dirty. I have sneakers and steel toed work boots, don't own anything else. I am going to be seventy this month, and if anyone were to ask me how come I wear tennies to dress up functions, I would just say I am sure Trump wears tennies when golfing

7, 14, 54, 40, 49, and powerball 1. And they never win... but maybe if I post them it can give them power?
I have played them for about a decade every time there is a large jackpot. Given the stupid ridiculous odds 1 is good enough in my mind. Luck says you win buying a single ticket.
And I've always hoped luck isn't without irony....

No one won again.
It's now $1,300,000,000 for Wednesdays drawing.
Yep, we'll buy a ticket.
When it hits a billion we buy ONE TICKET and day dream about winning.

a little extra money helps make life better if needed
up until the point where it starts to ruin you
so wouldn't you want to decide the maximum
that you want to win at by a ticket for
rather than the minimum?

We don't buy lottery tickets unless it gets to a billion.
Then we buy one.
We were in the newstand Saturday to buy one, there were tons of people.
Some buying 20$ worth.
Others talking about how they are also in pools at work.
We just buy the one ticket.
We figure that if God wants us to win, it'll only take one ticket.
We'd take the payments instead of the lump sum that way you get more of the money.
Taking a lump sum automatically cuts the win in half.
What would we do if we won? Not much different. We'd bank about 5 million in CDs so we'd have money for nursing homes as we get older. (both my husband and I have some big health issues). And we'd invest the rest after donating to a couple of charities .... two medical research charities and a religious based charity (no, not Catholic charities).
We like where we live. It's an average sized house in an average city neighborhood. Been here 25 years and don't feel like moving. We like the old cars we drive. They are comfortable and running okay. We don't travel anymore because of health reasons so we wouldn't be going on trips or anything. We aren't into 'stuff' to buy.
Nope. If we won then the only change for us would be that we could relax about the medical bills and the upcoming (probable) nursing home bills.
What would you do if you won the 1 billion powerball?
Half.....they take half if you want the lump sum???
That's a blatant bump and a half.
How do they justify taking half.....taxes?

no, the jackpot amounts are annuity calculations over many years. say you win a $1 billion jackpot. the lottery then spends $460 million and buys an annuity that will payout $33.4 million annually to you for 30 years, for a total payout of $1 billion. that is because the unpaid amount earns the lottery interest during the term of the payout, so it doesn't cost them $1 billion to do that, only $460 million. the lumpsum option is the cost of of that annuity payed out all at once, instead of year-by-year. so instead of a $1 billion payout you get $460 million. then the government takes half of that haha, so you get $230 million. or so.

Cheers for clearing that up.
I only buy the odd scratch card now and again.
The most I've ever won was £60.

So it's worse than you think take the lump some value which is less then half then on that amount of the jackpot that was 498 million they apply the tax which leaves you with around 390 million. So it's more like you get a third. So you if you win you get a nice kick in the balls to remind you who is actually in charge.

Really don't want to go through that again, good sir!
I would retire, in my fortress in the middle of the woods somewhere. And have more animals for the hubby to bitch about. LOL
