Polar vortex the Sky is falling
#1
I'm so over the hype it seems like every week this year the MSM have been hyping the weather to "Life threatening" levels.
I just saw next week another "Polar Vortex" is coming with historic cold. Now just how many times can we break historic records.

I grew up in the Midwest we walked to school in the freezing snow and just about blizzard snow fall. In today's world your flight gets canceled over an inch of snow.

I'm over this nanny snowflake movement you might die it's snowing outside in case you live under ground with no windows to see for yourself.

What I heard is that Summer is hot cuz of Global W- oh sorry, what I heard is that Summer is hot cuz of Climate Change.  Never was so hot befo' , neva.
My wife works in scheduling and the amount of people that cancel appointments BECAUSE of the news is ridiculous, and then its like wet roads only, lmfao.  And this is in a normally snowy state, but the State (sic) is conditioning people to be pansies.

The polar vortex is an awesome scientific phenomenon that results from Sudden Stratospheric Warming over the North Pole every winter, which pushes more cold air southward.

How in the name of Heaven does the stratospheric air over the North Pole warm up in January when the Sun never hits it???

It’s a mind baffling miracle!

There is a lot of ozone that gets produced by SSW it appears.

Whatever the cause its our new reality I know in my 60 years Ive never seen snow coverage like this throughout the deep south here's hoping it keeps the mosquitoes down. But Im not sure about the effects on the peanut, peach, and pecan crops among other produce...

Historic satellite images reveal the wide swath of snow coverage in the deep south

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed the sensationalizing of weather reporting.  Starting a few years ago we started hearing "Thunder Sleet" and I was like, "WTF!"
I think they're doing it to grab attention, drive traffic or garner clicks

So far, the California winter has been warmer than usual.

Looks like eastern USA colder than usual.

Yep aren't we in a La Niña weather pattern...

Im a firm believer that our weather/climate has gone through cycles of up and down highs and lows for eons. Some now shout about climate change because they can't say global warming. After all, the data doesn't back up that former conclusion.

La Niña usually means less rain and warmer winters for us, from more varied Pacific winds, which may be the case this year.

In addition, the polar winds seem to be missing us, but are hitting the eastern states hard.

But those Santa Ana winds going against the flow have hit SoCal hard.

It does seem to be the case that the average global temperature has risen a couple degrees Fahrenheit in the last couple hundred years.

That may not seem like much, but I think any change to the average global temperature over a 200 year span is very significant.

I expect a stable earth climate would never see any change in the average global temperature, as observed through seasons over 200 years.
