Aliens, while different than the original, is on par with Alien. The Empire Strikes Back is better than the original Star Wars. Avengers: Infinity War was the the 3rd in the series and the best of them all. There might be a couple more but you're right, it's really hard to do.
I may have to hand in my geek card for admitting this, but I have never seen the original Spaceballs.
Don't worry. I had friends at a sci-fi convention in original Star Trek uniforms that could not identify Horta eggs.
The next time we room together, there will be a list of required viewing.
Now go forth and watch Spaceballs.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

I am getting an impression that the entire movie set is based the Valerian technical background design. It is getting to the point CGI is just AI. No real design work involved. Just tell the AI to make it.
How AI craptastic the future has become.
I still hold out hope that art can overcome specific failings...
a good plot might just 'save' a movie
power house performances could too
(Just don't them be the one to tell you how great it is... )
AI use can only show how much 'human' effort was expended and where...
there is still the artists' eye, the 'vision,' and crafting of heart of the work...
I don't reject AI art... as long as I can perceive the artists work in it.
Monetization breeds industrialization... some are salivating over the IP issues here.

AI gives out the average of what it sees as has been labeled for what the user asks for. This leads to meadiocracy at best and extra parts at worst. Too many toes, arms, legs, fins, etc...
Garbage in, garbage out still applies.
The use of AI in art just indicates the lazyness and lack of commitment to any talent.
Which is better, a digital photo with a 'painting' filter applied or a real painting made the old fashion way? The same applies to movies.

After they screwed up the History of the World part 2, I’m not very confident this will be any good.
I could only stomach a few episodes of part 2 and it’s horrible compared to the first. YMMV
If you haven’t see the first one, it’s a must watch.
Mel Brooks in his prime.

spaceballs is like snl in that it is really only funny if you are youngkid and have peer group to bat the jokes and lines around with
is not really funny if you rewatch as adult alone sober etc
the producers was funny i thought but mel brooks everything else is like that
not funny really only trying to be funny and plausible zany mindviral humorous in peer group
blazing saddle, robin hood in tights, spaceballs, history of world, all that way
young frankstein funny because gene wilder
compare them all to airplane for example, which is actual funny
its schtick
just opinion

Hmmm... I'll give that a watch.
Aliens is my fave film. The subsequent ones, not so much.
Having said that, why the Hell didn't they have someone stay aboard the Sulaco?
