I'm not good at staying up on extended family at all. I don't know how many of them may work at farms, packing houses, home depots or other places of ICE opportunity zones.

With the SCOTUS ruling on "racial profiling is a-okay", many brown skinned people have been knocked down, beat up, windows smashed, sprayed, and disappeared. That includes U.S. citizens who didn't happen to have enough papers to prove citizenship. Who the heck carries a passport with them to mow a lawn? I don't.

For comparison of possible Posse Comitatus violations. Do you remember Jade Helm 15? The right wing conspiracy theorists (like Alex Jones) were literally freaking out over a perfectly legit military training exercise.

What was different? Oh, a dark skinned Democratic President.

"Panic!!! Panic!!! Troops in the streets! FEMA death camps!!"

But now, a president literally stating that Democratic run cities should be live training for military. And the nice conflict of interest GEO private detention facilities. And the enemy are Democrats which he mis-labels "Radical Left".

Please, enlighten us to what U.S. citizen has been arrested, deported and/or "disappeared" by ICE. Give us a name, just a name to back up your assertion.

And while you're at it, some credible reports of the beatings of brown skinned people going on would be great.

I'll be anxiously waiting for the nonreply.

Hey guy, im sorry you fear for the family you dont keep up with, but let me tell ya. Im gonna say like 75% of my family is Mexican maybe more and the rest are French cajun bayou folk couple Koreans in there a few Japanese and Indians and even some full on native Americans. We even have a couple black families. As for me? Im on the Mexican side and I have to tell you man, ICE is everywhere here EVERYWHERE in south Texas i mean like right next door and we have ZERO problems. None. Nor at any time have we ever felt profiled in any way by anyone in any of our professions here. The president can say whatever he wants and ICE isnt messing with legal citizens. Calm down and call your fam bro they're good. Also, most of us have drivers licenses we dont usually carry a passport and I know people her on work visas with drivers licenses most people have those on them. If they are citizens they probably have social security number that can be looked up if not your ass probably getting detained but ICE isnt RANDOMLY raiding vehicles of dark people or whatever you're thinking, they have actionable intel, we dont live in a world like south park Colorado on tv. Also, we aren't mowing lawns, we have people from majors in law enforcement to IT Administration at Texas A&M and beyond.

I don't know how people have the time or energy to keep up with all this.

I'm slow. What is Alex Jones currently saying?
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

George Retes

A US citizen and Army veteran was detained at an immigration raid and held for 3 days. His family scrambled to find him

That CNN report is behind a paywall. But now that you have a name, you can search for other sources.

Arrested and detainment are not the same thing......

You can be detained, without charges, for up to 72 hours per federal laws. Happens all the time

Hmmmm...

Quote:As U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and ICE agents were executing criminal search warrants on July 10 at the marijuana sites in Camarillo, CA, George Retes—a U.S. citizen—became violent and refused to comply with law enforcement. He challenged agents and blocked their route by refusing to move his vehicle out of the road. CBP arrested Retes for assault.

What really happened?

Seems there was a large protest happening during the massive raid and George FAFO'd.
Citizens' who knowingly commit violence must face the equally well-known price for their actions.

That isn't street-smarts, it isn't urban survival, it isn't some expression of identity.

You play, you pay.

The  law is about the act... conjecture what you will.

I'm doing my job and I'm assaulted?
If someone else doesn't restrain you... I will.
