Just in case Mods call this off topic....Some people are inferring that it was a Right Wing false flag. It kind of makes me sad that the cancelled such a feel-good community event.  Commerce aside, I always thought Oktoberfest was as well liked by the population as Thanksgiving used to be when I was a kid. Seemed like everyone pretty much enjoyed it.

Perhaps less to some... but still....

yeah man, it wasn't cancelled, it was closed temporarily... don't quote me, but I think it reopened that evening, if not the next morning...

I can never have my homebrew ready by Oktoberfest. My hops ripen and are harvested around Labor Day. It takes me a minimum of six weeks to get it into bottles, then another two weeks before drinking.

When I used brew, my seasonal was a pumpin spiced-ale (don't hate) and it was a pain because I wouldn't start seeing sugar pumpkins for sale until mid to late September.  I'd roast them to put in the mash (no canned stuff here)

Oh no doubt...

Little Helen Ga does a little faux Alpine village motif/tourist Oktoberfest trap, BITD I'd go with friends, rent a cabin on the creek and the NGA mountains are beautiful in October. The last year I (age 20) went we rented a cabin with 3 buddies and we all never spent a night there. I met a 30-something couple, and they had the wife's younger sister (25) tagging along, so I was off with them the whole weekend. They drank like  fish, and hell, I just thought I put it away, the Heineken, Jagermeister, and peppermint Schnapps was flowing freely 


Got back to our cabin on Sunday, and the rest had basically done the same thing...

Their Oktoberfest is still fairly popular 40 years later.
