'No big deal" Just an atmospheric phenomenon' some outages green energy absolved

Why do I think authorities a.k.a. government is trying to distract from their incompetence? Look over there, not here. This is what governments do.

Are they suggesting the oscillation was caused by atmospheric heat?

I need somebody to explain it like Im Ice T on LAOSVU

I don't even think it has to make sense. But I've learned the rains in Spain really do stay mainly in the plains.

I'm not a meteorologist, but I dont have no problem with "extreme temperature variations" in the central part of Spain causing this. Seems plausible.

Probably really is a boring scientific answer.

This seems like what happens in Fresno when it's 112. A search of The Central Valley says it's one of the most prone regions in the world to this phenomenon happening. Also due to extreme temperature changes, and an inversion layer that occurs at the valley floor during the most disgusting of humid and polluted days.

But this sounds more fun conspiracy-wise.

Quote:By modulating the ionosphere, Schumann resonances could indirectly influence the characteristics and propagation of atmospheric gravity waves, potentially leading to induced vibrations in the atmosphere.

Who says you can't use frequencies and ionospheric disturbances to control the weather?

What if Trump authorized HAARPs use on Spain to teach them a lesson for pushing green energy on the world and against our noble oil companies? He's already a comic-book villain in power, might as well have him control the weather too.

What RARE atmospheric phenomena? Nothing particularly unusual in Spain’s weather today. Seems that this explanation is possibly a cover for something else. Very odd goings on. Oh how they all want a nice digital currency. Power goes. It ALL goes.

Let's take into account Portugal and Spain's electrical grid are connected, for one!

"The Portuguese electricity grid is connected with Spain's and consists of 44,127 miles of high/medium voltage transmission lines and 69,640 miles of low voltage transmission lines. Up to 10% of demand could potentially be imported from and/or through Spain (and vice-versa)."

"Heavy rainfall and strong winds have been affecting southern, central and northern Spain and central and northern Portugal over the last days, causing floods, river overflows, and several severe weather-related incidents that have resulted in casualties and damage."

https://reliefweb.int/report/spain/spain...march-2025

And second, politicians are blaming each other for failures by not addressing climate change or having remedial measures in place.

This is just scratching the surface of problems there.

So, likely the power grid sustained some damage during the floods ?

and...
How does this happen? Did these floods hit retirement communities?

Why do I think vulnerable elderly people were living on their own because the social services they needed were not in place. Again, I'm leaning towards government not doing their job looking after the people. Where are the water bottle trucks? crickets

My sister in law is Portuguese and she works and lives up in the north, near Braga.  Long story short they still don't have power.  The cafes and small businesses are still using candles for light and people are paying in cash.
The strange thing is, it's not just power electricity it's also things that should have backups, cell towers are down, no phone reception.
Internet very spotty.
There are lines at the gas station because the pumps are not functioning right.

They have had a lot of wind and rain up north but nothing that would knock over power lines and transformers.
My wife talked to her mom online a few days ago and nothing was catastrophic weather ,so I wouldn't be surprised if its drummed up for climate change fear.
Also believable is with the two countries grids being so related that perhaps the weather in Spain was worse and knocked over connections into Portugal.

Spain's national cybersecurity office stated that it had gathered evidence suggesting the power outage could be the result of a cyberattack, but this claim has been denied by Portuguese and EU officials.

What I am reading is described as 'severe weather' not 'catastrophic. Hey, we in the rural county here lose power if we get a wind storm. What's the state of the infrastructure like there. Maybe we can start with that.
