Not New Zealands?

NZ is a clutch of Pacific Islands. It's a nice place, mostly unspoiled and uninhabited, mild climate, everywhere is less than an hour to the nearest beach. The people are pretty much totally unarmed (imagine thinking that you have to carry a chunk of steel around just to be safe from your neighbours or your government?).

I don't think our laws would be that applicable in some big industrial-park world.

"Return of No Kings" is hilarious.

But was it smaller? I saw some aerial photos, and it looked like quite a few people in Boston, for example. But with AI images, who knows.

Anyway, he should have said it. Totally on-brand and funny too. Bet he wishes he had.

San Diego had 80,000 show up for the first No Kings. 

No kings II was initially reported at 25,000 by PD, and I agreed and assumed the trend was the same elsewhere. 

But I've read it was significantly larger nationally.

Ours also had several locations (16 or something)  that may distributed the crowd into several locations.

Judge for yourself:

Organizers say 50k. 

Maybe 30k to 35k range. 

Which is sad, because last time they didn't need to exaggerate when they said 80K showed up, and the crowd covered several more blocks too.

Mass arrivals to New Zealand :: Immigration New Zealand

We should have an immigration policy like New Zealand's.

New Zealand is quite distant from other countries (except Australia) and therefore people arriving by boat are in for a long sea voyage and, historically, many attempts to migrate long distances by small boat to other countries have ended in tragedy.

New Zealand is quite accepting of migrants, even going as far as offering to take all the migrants imprisoned on islands around Australia back in 2020. Unfortunately for those migrants, Australia declined to give them up.

At one time, even in the US, the mood was, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” I am sure that somewhere, the heart of the true America still beats as it did for a hundred years before 2016. Things have changed.

The following song is indicative of the current mood of New Zealanders about immigrants, Please really listen to the words.

The song was top ten in New Zealand when it was released, it won its author, Dave Dobbyn, song of the year award, and has twice received awards in the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. Dobbyn also performed, by request, the song at the funeral of former New Zealand Prime minister David Lange, and at the 2006 New Zealand Memorial dedication ceremony in London. Since immigrants are generally more law-abiding than the established communities into which they integrate (especially in the USA), taking on large numbers of migrants would reduce the ratio of crimes/population size.

And we do have police to deal with the bad ones.

But you do. Federally, at a state level, at county level, and by ethnic divisions on the 'reserves', and even individual cities have their own police. You've now even got your military being called in to police you - despite two decades of falling crime rates.

And your country incarcerates more than just about any other country in the world - even allegedly repressive ones.

You are living in a police state, with your leaders saying you aren't, as they push for greater and greater control.

The US right-wing accuses the US left-wing of all sorts of unbelievable stuff. Those outside of the reality-distorting echo-chamber can see it.

The left wing socialist communist hate that they are not the authorities that must be obeyed or else. They don't hate "tyranny", they hate that they don't get to be the tyrants; clearly, they do not hate "fascism", as they are the ones employing fascist tactics in an effort to get their way... or else. It's a pretty clear case of cognitive dissonance to decry fascism while at the same time being the only fascists in town.

The Communist and the Muslim sympathizers have trained the left well to hate every freedom and country that is not Communist or a Muslim shit hole like they fled from.

Seems a little odd that you hold such disdain for the left, going as far to call them communist when you reside in the exact idea of government that you hate so much.
