Probably so they can detain him longer for questioning?

Hard to imagine murdering a pensioner in her home would not be an act of terror.

Im sure if he's a mentally twisted c#nt with an agenda.

He will be enjoying his 5 minutes of fame and singing like a canary.

RIP...

Plod can hold him for questioning for another seven days.

Digital forensics will probably be revealing.

Just watching on the news that British MP threats, of all kinds, has increased within the last three decades. Probably because of the increased access and use of social media and the wrong kind of freedom of speech where the rhetoric, disinformation, misinformation etc. can be spread rapidly which obviously incites certain people into such a state as to want to commit murder.

----

"Jess Phillips has received so many death threats she has to remind herself not to be blase. One night she received more than 600 rape threats. In 2019, a man forced his way into her office. The same year a white supremacist sent her a picture of Jo Cox, her friend and fellow Labour MP who was murdered in 2016, accompanied with the message: “I will have you dealt with.”
“This is not academic to me; it is something I face every day,” says the MP for Birmingham Yardley. “You learn to cope with it, but it does cause terrible anxiety. For me, I feel guilty about the people who work for me, my kids, my family.”

The security and safety of all MPs – and the very real threats they face – has come back into sharp focus this week after it emerged that counter-terrorism police were taking over the investigation into Ann Widdecombe’s death.
In recent days parliamentarians have spoken about the impact of threats on their lives. Nigel Farage revealed he is receiving more than 300 threats a month, with Reform UK recording 1,577 threats against their leader since February.

The trade minister Chris Bryant said he had received countless death threats, while in the Commons on Monday the longstanding Conservative MP Bernard Jenkin said MPs were “more likely to meet a violent death than a member of His Majesty’s armed forces or a member of the British police forces”.

As for Nigel Farage and his experience with getting death threats...

"A No 10 spokesman said Keir Starmer wanted all MPs to have access to appropriate security. 'The Prime Minister is clear that no politician should be targeted or face abuse, regardless of their views,' the spokesman said.

Mr Jenrick acknowledged that Mr Farage had been offered a security package similar to that provided to Kemi Badenoch, including a car and bodyguard. But Mr Jenrick said the offer did not reflect the level of threat he faces.
A Reform spokesman said: 'Within days of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, at a moment when the threat to public figures on the Right was escalating, the security package Mr Farage was offered represented a 75 per cent cut without clear reason.'Faced with a state offer that no longer matched the threat against him, Nigel declined the downgraded and inadequate package and Reform took the responsible decision to maintain proper protection rather than gamble with his life.'

Dame Prue Leith said she 'worries' about the safety of her MP son Danny Kruger, who is a leading figure in Reform.

The celebrity chef told Times Radio: 'I think it is scary. It seems so amazing that this should be happening in the UK, which I've always thought of as the most civilized country about politics.

'It's always been a proper country. You don't reach for the gun when you don't agree with somebody, you debate it and you vote on it.'

Reform has compiled a dossier of hundreds of threatening messages received by Mr Farage, many of them posted on X.

They include 597 death threats – equal to an average of four a day or almost 30 a week.

People in government who hold the purse strings need to acknowledge the true danger politicians and their family members are in every day and provide the appropriate form of security. The reasons for the death threats vary, but it seems from the ideological and cultural changes there, that some ideologies do not want women in positions of power.

So, I think it justified that Farage accepted that billionaire's gift of $5 Million and spent it on his own security because his government failed him.

The whole country is edging towards civil war. Yet the politicians themselves won't do anything about it. They won't stop the rise of the far right by stopping illegal immigration. How can our leaders not secure our beaches when we have the Royal Navy. Then the Islamic terrorists infiltrate too. Now we have Islamo nutters, and Far Right nutters growing like crazy, because the politicians won't get their act together. The politicians themeselves need to get this house in order if they want to stop the extremist groups from acting in a way that the politicians will actually start acknowledging their concerns through political murders. Crazy. But true.

I don't live there, so I can only take your and others' words here for the facts or observed reality.

The more I read about what's going on there, the more it does seem out of control crazy.

Totally out of control for sure. Political crisis after crisis, islamic invasion, Kashmiri gangs raping 1/4 million of our girls, drugged up zombies everywhere, Far Right neo Nazis growing, factories closing down, a country where if you don't work and go on benefits you receive more money than actually working for a living, a general feeling of the good times have passed us by and one of being on a Titanic style sinking ship. I'd love to have a go at turning things around. First stop, deport all these criminals to one of our islands in the mid Atlantic so they can kill, fight, march with flags, etc. All nutters deported. We can have a TV show to watch them battling it out. Everybody will be happy, maybe place bets on the tribalism and battles on the island. Even David Attenborough so he can do a 'wildlife' show on the place  Lol

The UK is not "edging towards civil war" by any credible measure.

Illegal immigration, terrorism and extremism are real issues, but jumping from those to inevitable political violence ignores the evidence.

Again, most sane people reject extremism.

You want there to be a civil war.

But you still refuse to say who you would fight first.

And don't suggest Muslims, because as we have already established.

You don't know any bar the ones you see on GB News.

And again with the stupid "Islamic invasion, Kashmiri gangs raping 1/4 million of our girls" nonsense, with absolutely not one shred of tangible evidence to support your race hate rhetoric.

Clown shoes...
