Nick names

My Wife was telling me about a co worker who they named Waldo because they are always wondering where she is when it comes time to get something done and that reminded me of......

Back in the day when I was welding, I had one guy who could never be found when it came time to unload a truck load of steel or when it was time to clean the shop, so I came up with a nick name for him that I once used at a very unfortunate time.

Our shop manager was the one who would co ordinate shipments of steel with whatever job we were doing at the time and the secretaries were always in and out of the shop to get his signature or confirm an order.

One day he told me "Grab some help and go unload that truck" and sure enough I look around and that guy is easing his way toward the bathrooms. At this point, unbeknownst to me, both secretaries were in the shop.

I yelled across the shop, Hey G Spot come gimme a hand !

He yelled back Why are you calling me G spot ?

I yelled back Because I can never fucking find you when I need you !

There may have been a meeting about appropriate language when there are ladies in the shop.

Sometimes in all our lives, we have to say it how we see it, even knowing there will be consequences.   Like you, David, I have often thought that such pronouncements were best delivered seasoned with humour.    Thumbup
