I found the Venmo of the woman shot dead in Minneapolis by ICE after accelerating into an agent. Rachel Good's mother was paying her bills, her image features a BLM logo, and in 2020, she paid someone for "terrorism."

Quote: ‘Agents may not fire at a moving car that is threatening them unless no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle.‘ This is DOJ policy, signed off on by the country’s 25 largest cities.

She was just trying to flee. She was turning her tires.

Okay, she did try to run him over, but she didn’t touch him.

She did touch him, but she wasn’t seriously trying to hurt him.

Ok she tried killing him, but why didn’t they just shoot her tires?

The evolution of the excuses is nauseating.

Absolutely the car did not run over the officer.

The car's wheels were turned to the right, and the officer was to her left, before she began to move and after the shooting.

The officer should not have stood in the path of the car. They were placing themselves potentially in harms way.

The officer should not have fired into the windscreen of a car, as there is danger of the round being deflected and striking others, including the other officer, who was mere degrees from the path of the bullet.

The first ICE vehicle drove around past the front of Good's car just seconds previous to the shooting. The other ICE vehicle could have simply done the same.

All those things are clear on multiple videos. As such, commentary about those specific aspects has not changed.

It is also excessive to kill someone because they pose an inconvenience, no matter how 'officious' the shooter thinks they are.

Someone has been killed. Justice demands that there must be severe consequence for such a severe outcome. Even if the officer is charged with intentional manslaughter, they must serve time - it clearly wasn't an accident.

I don't know what really happened in the moment...

But I can tell you this...

The initial response was schadenfreude, ugly and base.

The the narrative was fed.... more disdain and characterization including nothing except 'good riddance!"

Now... it can't be that this is another case of "authorized" bravado gone wrong... these are trained professionals who would never bully and threaten to gain "compliance."  That's jut not done... ever.

Multiple officers yelling at an agitated activist, probably posturing as a civic challenge to officers who don't care.  She was also in a running engaged vehicle... and her partner was also talking...  this is a bad moment for spontaneous action.

It clearly went very wrong... weapons were drawn and fired...

But before the corpse had even begun to undergo rigor... the media and a few very enthusiastic antagonists have destroyed her image to the public preemptively... with clear emotional baggage attached.

Proving that all the crap they hated when it was used against their heroes, is exactly the same crap they use too, just as freely and without remorse.

Let the law handle this.... speculate freely, as you do... but remember a human is dead... a human being was shot and killed...  so spare me the "she had it coming" brutality... save it for the cross burning.

Before the car moved off, the officer placed themselves directly in front of the left hand headlight. The car was stationary at the time. The officer placed themselves in danger.
