"Criminal damage carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment if it causes more than £5,000 of damage.
Offences where the damage is worth less than £5,000 have a maximum sentence of three months or a £2,500 fine."

Bansky can just pay the fine and not serve jail time because really? how much would it cost to wash off his statement piece? Certainly not over 2,500 pounds.
I thought it was pretty well established that Banksy's real name is Robin Gunningham?

If that's the case, why is the article saying he's anonymous and will be unmasked by the courts?

Because he's a MI5 puppet groomed to give the appearance of viable but impotent "dissent", and his anonymity is a carefully cultivated façade?

The government can't have their cake and eat it too, or can they?

Interestingly, that's the phrase that got the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski caught. Old Ted (PBUH) insisted that to be logically consistent, it should be "they can't eat their cake and have it too", and that's the way he wrote it in his manifesto. His brother recognized the strange turn of phrase, got suspicious, and contacted the FBI.

Pretty sure it’s a reaction to the fairly recent bill that requires people to get permission to protest. Otherwise you get arrested for protesting illegally.
I’ve never been a fan of the law, legalese is deliberately there to confuse anyone who hasn’t studied it. Small print, usually pages and pages of small print and hidden in there somewhere is usually a sentence that says you wave your rights or words to that effect.
Judges wearing wigs, what’s all that about in this day and age?
I remember hearing about the real meaning of modern suits, the tie represents a chain around the neck neck and cuff links representing chains on the wrists. Could just be bollocks but interesting non the less.
As far as I can tell protesting achieves nothing anyway, but Gandhi was successful even though he was assassinated the cause was won. So I’m led to believe at least.

Clever government to make that law so that they can apply the label of antisemitism to any protest against Zionist Israel government's genocide and colonial takeover of Gaza, with the help of the U.K. and the U.S.

I do like your thinking, you raise points I haven’t even considered quite often. However I think his anonymity was originally because he is a graffiti artist and his work is mostly illegal graffiti. He could also have a bunch of reasons for wishing to be anonymous, not least the cred it adds to his work. He could be a Toff who went to Eton, that would sure kill his street cred. Whatever the case I’ve always liked his own original style and that he uses his art to make statements or get people questioning things.
But then he could just be an Mi5/6 agent reminding us the impotency of dissent…

I think that’s more to do with why they labelled Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation.
I always shake my head when I hear the term antisemitism thrown about, most Jews aren’t even Semitic and that term applies to Palestinians too, also Judaism is a religion not a race.
