I just ran across this relevant article title...

ChatGPT Health lets you connect medical records to an AI that makes things up

Maybe people are starting to realize that LLMs are not "AI?"

nah....

If they mis-prescribed meds and billed insurance, isn't that in some way Insurance Fraud and/or malpractice?

That would depend on the lawyer-dance you are prepared to endure.

Quantum , I hope you get lawyered-up easily and make this a learning lesson for both the locale, the healthcare company, and also a money making opportunity, if you choose.

Here is the problem. I contacted a Lawyer. Yes he can sue. He told me you can’t sue AI but you can sue the doctor since he had to sign off of the AI. I like my doctor, I do not like the corp he works for.

They deleted my whole health history in my chart. I downloaded it the day this happened. All the AI mistakes and everything.

I went to his office and told him I could sue for the AI mistakes. He said yes and he has insurance for malpractice.

So I am still thinking about it!

This will be our future of health services:   Humans will go for testing, AI will declare them fit for purpose regardless of their symptoms, and increase the cost of their health insurance on the way out, due to the actual test parameters measured.   There will be fewer surgeries, because AI will determine that non-invasive options are preferred, and "they" will push more and more medications as preferred over any surgical solution.

Eventually AIMED will insist upon interactive chip/femtomachine at the source of the problem, and it will eventually cause as many physiological problems as it remedies.   After that, AIMED will create an algorithm (ALGOREithm?) that determines the optimal time of termination of the human organism.   Our worth will be measured against our ability to perform and create wealth.   After that, AIMED will declare that humans should all be sequestered upon an island (say, Australia) and fed a minimum level of caloric nutrition to sustain their lives for a set measure of acceptable life, say 42 years.   Then, the world will be at peace, after the pest control treatments have been concluded.   You heard it here first.   Shocked2 Wow Lol

I imagine bleary-eyed residents shuffling about waiting to 'be alerted' that they are 'expected' for a 'routine medical assessment.

I imagine wondering what the outcome was, but not really - after all the machine takes care of me... I don't "have" to worry... and when I get old and the algorithm indicates it's time for me to "retire" because it's just not 'efficient' and 'productive' to continue otherwise... I will never be seen or heard from again.

Then there's the algorithmically imposed eugenics....

Hard pass.
