I definitely think it's possible but I am not a practitioner.
You should be wary of what you contact when out of body with these practices. I wouldn't just go summoning a random being with thorough research. When I say thorough I mean thorough. I'm not saying it's evil but what I'm saying is that this kind of work needs to be done with proper knowledge and understanding. For example if you're summoning a deity in your physical life, it can take some time to connect. If you do this in the asral the connection can be very immediate from what I understand but this depends on the ritual and the being involved.
