But there's too many youngsters not interested in working for a living, they have no prides anymore, yet expect others to strive to create wealth that theuy then steal as benefits. I'm sorry on this one but its a fact that a good segment of our youth are completely bone idle work shy good for nothing lazy slobs who expect handouts from others rather than doing their bit. Sure the cost of living is always a problem, but you go out and work extra, I've always been on around minimum wage but that's the area I'm in and worked many many hours, one year did 362 days of work had three days off, just to get on the ladder to putting savings in the bank rather than just making a living. One has to put their back into this economic system as is your daughter to make things work or train, I'm sorry it's just a fact that there is a good segment of our population who will be rolling up around the corner at Home Bargains in their 26 plate Hyundais (nice SUV's for sure) then will lower slowly their enormous fat bodys out of the vehicle, hobble over in their trackies to the trollies, drag these round the isles so slowly (as they have no reason to move fast) filling the trollys with masses of food and booze, then stand in the quee complaing about the 'foreigners' who are flooding in, largely because those same fat lazy good for nothing work sky trolly pushings slobs are too bone idle to do their bit. I coild go on benefits with the heart and liver issues but I stick with work mate, I was bought up that way. Plus like it. All these bone idle types are swinging the lead at the expencxe of the taxpayer and long term no good can come of it. Starmer and the commies won't do jack as that's his voter along ironically with the ethnics / immigrants. and the sh8t show goes on
Yeah, but it goes on, which is kind of the point...
And if it were such a downtrodden, horrible place to exist.
Doomed beyond repair since 1922.
We would not have a problem with immigration.
That stands to simple rhyme and reason.
Obviously, the UK is still a desirable destination.
Otherwise, people would not come, just like they always have.
Possibly worth also considering those "fat lazy good for nothing work sky trolly pushings slobs", as you put it.
Fill said trollies to the brim with a lot of highly taxable goods and products.
Take them away, and there goes the supermarkets.
Who also happen to employ a significant percentage of the populace, and who purchase produce and products from a significant percentage of our farms and other warehouse retailers.
As to you not wishing to receive benefits, if you have paid into the system all your life, and are finding it hard, or a struggle to continue to work, you are entitled to those benefits, Orby.
Life is what we choose to make it, mate, but it's not all doom and gloom...
The sh#t show must go on, else, what's the fecking point?

Of course coming here's dezirable mate. It's paradise. That's why the come. In me youth I visited quite a few sh*t hole countries. Holy smoke anywhere in britain is paradise. Informal settlements the agriculturalists coming in from the rural zones living in tin iron shacks, women with just a cloth on them, guys trying to walk wading through knee high mud everywhere. Britain is paradise in comparison. Then we have a government that makes it too atractive. The benefits on offer are too good for foreigners plus our own bone idle lazy good for nothing trolley filled lazy gits. Until 'they' make it less attractive nothing will change. Immigration being honest and realistic keeps the world moving, it's our own native bone idle good for nothing smakhead work sky native population that worries me. They are the real problem that leads to all the rest. I'm sure they'll be talking about the same issues in 100 years time. Have fun mate.

I don't see the attraction.
You do realise that immigrants and refugees cannot claim benefits like Universal Credit or housing support here in the UK.
Aside from the likes of limited asylum support.
They live on about £7 a day.
Not even allowed to seek legal employment.
Can you imagine trying to do that?
I can't.
Trust me Orby they are not here for benefits.
They are here because of the relative safety our nation provides.
They come for jobs, family, and the chance at a better life...
Paradise for the lucky few, maybe.
But for most, they are in for a hard slog, just like everyone else.
Only without the safety nets, or at least most of them.

What about OVERALL GDP?
If you REALLY want a chart that makes the rest of the world look "poor," here it is:
I think this is outdated or uses real GDP, not nominal. But it gives you an idea.
In overall nominal GDP, UK = California.
In 2026 UK is projected a nominal GDP of 4.26 trillion.
California is projected a nominal GDP of 4.25 trillion.
UK income per capita = $60,944
CA income per capita = $107,594
In per capita GDP California = Ireland, which puts us #4 in the world, behind only Monaco, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg.
So take that Ireland, with your enormous corporate footprint, insane housing costs, housing shortages, and high cost of living... wait.... oh... :(
And if you REALLY REALLY want to show how rich everyone in America is supposed to be, you can do the per capita map..
On this map UK equals Idaho, Arkansas, and West Virginia , where as Mississippi is equal to France.
But what does it really mean?
Damn Wyoming has some loaded ranchers?
I know the map says Louisiana and Sweden have comparable per capita GDP, but is anyone, anywhere, that knows of Louisiana outside the tourist areas of New Orleans, going to compare the two ever? Especially in terms of "quality of life." Something is not fully tracking when Alabama = Finland.
No one wants the heads-up comparison of Louisiana and Sweden on everything else besides GDP/Income.
