Pretty revealing speech given here at Oxford University explaining how 'the mainstream media is the enemy of the people'.








All the usual topics brought up like utterly corrupt 'consensus' manufacture, narrative control and corporate shill 'gatekeeping' - also the infiltration of regulatory institutions and the contamination of politically radical ideologies.

Refreshing to see he covers the role of intelligence services 'hijacking' the news media in projects like Mockingbird and internet shills in the form of the military cyber-warfare unit 'the 77th brigade' are also discussed.

Obviously all this is from a British standpoint but reckon it's just as bad over the pond - there's been consistent polling trends showing that only about 30% of folks are still swallowing all this stage managed bullshit so guess people are waking up.

If this thread were titled "Mainstream News Enemy Of State" it would have a totally different meaning.

That is interesting.

It shows that "the interests of the State" ≠ "the interests of the People".

At least at a deep level.

Isn't that the core problem? All else is epiphenomena.

People need to be personally responsible for evaluating any information fed to them.

In whatever way it is fed to them.

Many love sensationalized news.  They love getting their drama fix and getting all hyped up against their "enemies".  

And those tend to be the top-rated news "entertainment" shows.

Wouldn't say state 'interests' bode well for normal folks mate - especially given the state's entanglement with corporate banksters.

Right on Chivo and looks like some journalists actually did try to warn everyone how bad things were becoming.









That documentary seems insanely relevant today as it deals with the inherent dangers of corporate media monopoly caused by the 'Telecommunications Act' where all existing safeguard regulations were flushed down the toilet.
