Like closed borders and lower taxes?

The Simple Answer:

Yes.

Why the fuck would it be otherwise, or would that question need to be danced around answering?

The current administration doesn't have an absolute moral or legal right/wrong position for America on either of those things.

Nor does the opposition.

The Expanded Answer:

Taxes:

You have one of two widely upheld opinions on taxes. Neither of them are Pro/Con America. They are American.

I am total laissez faire economy.  I know you dont know who Ayn Rand really is, but I have said it before.

So I question "lower taxes" when we just swapped the lowered percentage for oil spikes and inflation from protectionist tariffs that ultimately make us less globally competitive.

Some even supported Obama's 39%, because they love America and want to see social safety nets and a welfare state.  Some want single payer and wealth redistribution. And nothing really says any of those policies cant be American.

People supported Kennedy's 91% rates.
And people REALLY supported LBJ when he lowered it to 70%

They even called that "The Golden Age of Capitalism."

Really, The New Deal took until the 80s to die. And some argue, the middle class started to die shortly after.

Just some though. I agree with Ayn Rand on "upward mobility" and deregulation/lower taxes keeping the middle class opportunities the most alive. Even if it facilitates an oligarch (Like Trump), they still give out the most business loans that create new dreams.

So it is all his isolationist or protectionist crap that takes the shine off the tax cuts.

The Border:

That's another, "You dont dictate what's right and wrong or what's American" thing.

I think they want to work for what they have and contribute at a higher rate than naturalized citizens.

To many, the sensationalism over immigrants is classic scapegoating. Fake News. Exceptions made the rule. Crime rates to back this up too.

Federal law can just as easily open the border and use their own patriotic and moral justifications. And there is lots of clergy willing to preach in favor of immigrants. And just as many to say a lenient border policy of asylum and granted freedom is the foundation of The American Dream.

Like, "America was built on every great-grandparent that showed up in 1898 without papers and were immediately processed in."

I MYSELF AM 37.5% WOP.

Probably, but people were sabotaging the lining, which is an incredibly infantile AF thing to do.

I hate this orange man so much Im gonna tear out this lining in the reflection pool.

From what I have seen, people are accused of damaging the lining. I have not seen videos or read any story of it actually occuring. Just people accused by touching the floating flakes.

From my experience with leaking water features and paint on liners, they did it wrong. I did stop a leak in a water cooling tower with underwater paint. It filled in the leaks and set underwater. They could have done something like that years ago.

The blue color is a problem as it raises the water temperature promoting the algie growt. Also, I have never seen a soft coating work properly. Vinal or rubber liner, yes, they work. Paint on soft liner, not so much.

If installed correctly, it would have taken many thousands of galloma of chemicals to make it peal off. It would change color and the algae would not be growing in it.

I heard CNN managed to get a water sample tested and the phosphate level is way off. They should have pretreated the water off site and trucked it in for the initial fill up. I heard it is just river water from the Petomic so there is any mineral, polution, and algae problems from that.

It needed fixing but should have been fixed correctly.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

We are experiencing a two party government that both sides are unable to cooperate. This is because they both think they will lose votes by not being seen as being enough different than the other guys. Both are only playing to their extreams and not to the middle.

Both sides have some good and bad ideas. A long time ago, they worked to figure out which are good and use them. Now they only have our and their ideas. That is the problem.

How many children sex trafficked through the open border is acceptable to you?

What do you consider a "fair share" of people to pay for taxes?
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

Ah fuck, I didn't think of the children when thinking of the yearning huddled masses. The sex-trafficked children, no less.

So what you've done here is forced me into a moral realm full of self-preservation and not wanting to look complicit with such heinous crimes.

"The Appeal To Victim Children Fallacy" or "The Appeal To Sin Fallacy."

But you can use that for anything...

Me: "I support easy access to mifepristone and misoprostol."

Strawchildren:  "Abortions have doubled because of those drugs easy access, even in resticted states! How many dead babies do you support?"

Me: "I support stricter gun control."

Strawchildren: "So how many of our daughters do you want raped when an illegal immigrant breaks into our home and you violated our rights and took our means of self defense?"

So I'd rather NOT answer and let you say think or something like,

"So you dont care about exploited and abused children, or human life.."

... and so on and such.

I think I might have fallen too far down the mountain to care. Not necessarily apathy either. Because this village is fucking absurb, and it seems children here are really just useful bits of moral leverage to selectively care about when it suits your argument.

For taxes you didn't use any strawchildren, so...

I like  supplemental VATs all the way. You shift burden to final consumption and generate revenue from purchases, at the end of the chain.

By doing this you tax the rich most when they spend their money, instead of in a return.  Especiall property purchases. This can make up the lost revenue of lower corporate tax rates like 14-18% and lower income taxes in three Reagan-like tiers of 12%, 21%, and 30%.

I prefer that to tariffs because it doesnt make us less globably competitive.

If you don't want to discuss children, then lets talk about women being sex trafficked, or terrorists coming across.

As for taxes?

I can't see any raise in any tax ever until the government shows that it is spending what they take already, wisely.

Well you know...  I could speak to the exploited sistren, or the thousands trafficked (and still trafficked) anually.

But I'm not so concerned with the less than 1% that are sex workers or terrorists, because it's less than 1% of all illegal crossers.

Plus, even with THE MOST secured border they can walk right the fuck under it anyway. Like they do under ours, right under the new fence, the cameras, canals, barrio, and to the Otay warehouse.

So let me borrow your shtick and force you into my rhetorical trap instead.

What do you think of all the legal permitted gun owners that get implicated in homicide, mass shootings, armed robbery, or other crimes in possession of a legal firearm? What about all the children those legal AR15s kill at schools?

And moving forward I WILL ONLY answer you IF YOU RESPOND TO MY QUESTION about legally armed criminals.
