Jimmy Kimmel pulled from the air over false comment about Kirk murder

Expect any statements to be through his attorney.

Defense attorneys keep track of what gets released to the public through law enforcement. Then they move to have such evidence stricken before jury hears it. That's why public media trials and court trials are so different, and there are many facts that the public will never know.

I'm not a lawyer, but I've seen a lot of TV

I'm not a lawyer either but I've been in a few court room trials and the written law usually applies without any doubt or with few exceptions.

So Kimmel is being smart to keep quiet for now.

I see now that I was confused. I was thinking and commenting on Robinson trial.

Kimmel lawsuit would make him the plaintiff rather than defendant.
So switch/switch.

Those civil lawsuits require a buttload* of discovery.

* I almost wrote literally a buttload. Literally would be a truckload.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people. - Commander William Adama

As long as you don't say "boatload".

Because then Trump would blow it up and destroy the evidence.

Hey, did Epstein have a boat?

How about buttload?

I've tried to keep my commenting on topic. As for discovery, during the execs. meeting many said that Kimmel did not go over the line, but that they were just under pressure from the Trump push to put the blame on the leftists.

Here's Colbert's take on it.

I didn't care very much about that, really.

The renaming of Union(winners) military bases after Confederates(losers) kind of got me worked up. I suppose Fort Erwin Rommel to show up sometime. He was a very good tactician and all and his "war without hate" seems preferable to war with hate.

Calendar, looks like this last July.

Yes!  First thing you're told is don't say anything.

My mom had properties.  A metal gate inured a tenant.  It was actually the tenant's fault for trying to manually open an electronic fence.

But, because my mom said, "Oh, I'm so sorry" -- that was an admission of guilt according to written law.

That's wild because I would have taken that comment to mean "Oh, I'm so sorry you were injured", and continued "But you shouldn't have tried to force the gate open, so it's your fault." But that's just me.

And I'd look for a very good lawyer, actually, I knew quite a few good lawyers so it would not have been an issue.

Now Kimmel has those execs. admitting that they believed he did not go over the line.

I also read in the news, not sure if it's true or not, that ABC is asking Kimmel back but he simply has to apologize and send a hefty donation to CK's organization and willy nilly all is forgiven.

Hell, when I agree with Chris Cuomo, the dawn of a new era is nigh...

Charlie likely had more Democratic viewers than Kimmel

Law is not what you watch on TV.  Unless it's actual court shows.

I've been following Jimmy since 1997 when he was on "Win Ben Stein's Money".  He's always had a boyish charm about him -- and he's never been extreme.  He says he's been fired a lot.  I speculate that some think he's gullible and not going to fight back.

Good to hear so many people speaking up -- because he did not go over the line.

I hope he tells them to go pound sand.
