Because the democrats engaged in lawfare .... Trump is sleazy and paid off a hooker not to talk about their sexcapades.   That's not illegal.  But the democrats decided to falsely call it a 'campaign contribution' which is a felony and then convicted him 34 times on that one payoff ... a payoff that really wasn't illegal to begin with.

Trump is a mess, but that lawfare thing against him was political lawfare and shady as  hell.
