Isreal launches strikes on Iran
Here's a link to the active site "PRESSTV", a propaganda outlet for Iran!!

It's fast and slick and coming straight from The Ayatollah's Court Jester Press Corp  Lol

wondering if this is the case really

seen a lot of lies

most i can see is they've supported efforts to oppose us/israeli hegemony in the middle east?

statement from defence secretary saying they might be able to make something that "looks like" a nuke.

un weapons inspections saying they gave up their active program in the early 2000s.

wondering if there is an objective case really that they are some kind of bloodthirsty existential threat. it seems rather convenient justification for what would otherwise be naked aggression against them. there's a lot of stink of western propaganda in the air.

can anyone link something that makes the case? please?

Like everything, it's nuanced.

I think a nuclear weapon was probably something they did seek. I could understand why they saw that as a good deterrent if they compared Libya and North Korea. That doesn't mean I'm sympathetic to them obtaining one.

By all estimates, their enrichment was close, or there before these strikes. All that was left was making the bomb itself, which many act like is the hardest thing ever even though it was done 80 years ago. There have been teenage kids who made theoretical ones for their thesis.

That said, Bibi has been saying they were months away for decades, and lobbying the US to help him in his ambitions. I suppose one could argue he came from a good place, but allegedly they still don't have one, so one has to wonder.

Then on the other hand, you have the US who has always taken a strong position against the Iranian nuclear program. Which, I would counter with the question who built their first reactor?

All that said, Iran is the epitome of a religious dictatorship. I think those are even scarier, considering it brings the idea of one's "eternal spirit", and not just your current life when you live under them. I suppose it's a different relationship with your government when you see it as an extension of God. I could see how someone would make the same case for Israel, but Judaism is a really interesting religion compared to it's siblings Christianity and Islam. I think it's because being Jewish is ethnic, and/or religion. So many of them are almost agnostic or atheist, but still relate to the broader idea out of tradition.

Not an ignoramus, just inexperienced, and occasionally not as discriminating with sources. But most of that just comes with time and practice.
I was just watching Agenda Free TV on YouTube for a little while, members in the chat mentioned they were tracking a large number of KC135 tankers taking off around the country and heading towards the Atlantic.

I heard 4 take off from Sefridge ANGB near me and on the ADS-B tracking map, they are heading that way also.
NGL, now I feel unjustly chastened for accuracy in a thread label "Isreal launches strikes on Iran"

Twenty-one currently heading east. Not all KC-135s though. It's a mix of KC-135s and KC-46s.

Edit: Up to 22 now. One is an RAF RC-135 on a SHINR flight out of L3 in Texas.

What time did the four from Selfridge leave? I was out that way about an hour ago
I have noticed that the Iranian volleys into Israel have been decreasing in strength each wave.

Israel has all but opened up the airspace in Iran, which is impressive in and of itself because of the distance they're projecting. But it misses that they've neutered other regional actors that were seen as a proxy to bog down the Iron Dome and other defense systems.

Not only that, but the opening of Syrian airspace means loitering refuelers can support operations closer to Iran. All of this was calculated, and in line with Israel punching above their weight.

Everything looks like this is closing up pretty tidy considering the implications everyone wondered before the events. And I'll even be honest, I've always viewed Iran as a problematic dictatorship. So if Israel handles it with minimal US involvement, that's like best case scenario, especially if it's swift strikes and a wind down.

But, I'd be remised if I didn't compare this to other new age asymmetrical warfare. And while it's easy to say the US wouldn't involve itself, we did with Yemen because of naval passage, and they are far less threatening than Iran. If the Strait of Hormuz comes into question, I feel like we get involved by default.

If Ukraine was problematic for Russia, Iran could be problematic for Israel. It's a country with topography comparing to Afghanistan, with far greater resources, and partners. While there aren't strong do or die allies, they have nations willing to skirt sanctions for their oil, which is all one needs. That's evident by Russia who has proven to pivot their economy in a sanction environment so long there is a revenue stream from resources.

I hope this one gets buttoned up quick, and will even applaud the Trump admin should Iran get dealt with in a mild way considering what the worst case scenarios were. But I think recent history gives us reasons to be skeptical even with how things look in the first few days.

Probably an hour ago or hour and half, I think.

I didn’t think anything of it when I heard them until I saw the chat on Agenda Free TV.
