Impressive robotic demonstration video

I ran across a demo video of a humanoid robot performing some seriously impressive moves... martial combat moves.

The apparent performance was smooth, the robot balanced, the precise strikes and kicks both fluidly delivered; recovery seems too good to be true...

SO good that :  In the video below you'll find a prominent notice no AI-generation, no CGI...
 

In fact, the demo looked so slick that the company had to release a behind-the-scenes video to counter online allegations that the demo was created using CGI. Even the EngineAI CEO, Zhao Tongyang – a veteran in the robotics field – posted an Instagram video where the T800 kicked him across the room. Extraordinary commitment to his product!

I don’t know Max, it really does look too good to be true to me.

If real it is pretty damn impressive, but I don’t know.

The balance is amazing and I just don’t see how it can be that good, but again I don’t know squat about how these things are built and how they can get them to perform like that…

The Robots actions almost exactly matched the guys action in part of the video.  It could be that the guy was wearing sensors, and the robot was mimicking his actions sort of like remote control.  When the guy was not there, he could have been off to the side doing the kicks too, and the robot could be programmed for some normal routines too. 

If it is even real at all.

Well it appears investors are willing to throw money at it for mass production and rollout in mid-2026.

It seems it's manual dexterity is not yet up to par for common/factory tasks, or at least has not been demonstrated, which raises flags for me, but not for investors. So, what is this robot's true purpose?

"EngineAI has come a long way since debuting its first front-flipping humanoid earlier this year, but the startup still has a ways to go with the T800. Sure, it can already bust moves and throw kicks with impressive ease, but practical tasks such as folding a towel or threading a needle have yet to be demonstrated.
 Such things may not be in the company's immediate training plans however, as the T800 is initially headed for industrial applications – where next-level dexterity is perhaps less important and comparatively simple repetitive tasks such as mounting components on a production line will be the order of the day."

I think about the use of such devices like these.

Right now, outside of a parade with programmed choreography... marching in squads to 'glorious' music... (which could be an impressive display for 'the people' who need to be 'confident' that their army kicks butt)...

But unless we have a very different kind of battlefield, these things will just become fodder for salvage.

What is their purpose? The demonstrations show no dexterity for common everyday uses or factory uses.

I think it's safe to say the primary use is "for sale."

What use can these things, mass-produced, be put to?

I think this is an 'entertainment' toy... and if anything, the hint of the music overlay telegraphs exactly who this demo is for.

I doubt any realist thinks you can hand a squad of these robots to a military operation and have them do anything but stand around and 'display' how cool they are.
