I feel there is something in the Japanese collective psyche that demands and expects it.

Expects what though?  Lol  Nobody knows what this robot is to be used for except to kick one's ass and/or make extreme moves.

Ahhhh... you were born to this kind of observation, I bet.

Imagine the marketing...

I set 60 commando robots to the swim....

8 days later 47 make it to the enemy beach... utterly unsuspecting... as the form up and commence the march across un-patrolled, humanly impassible swamp/jungle/mountain/desert... and with no 'resting.'

They form up at the nuclear plant gate... all 34 of them....

And begin a dance routine to the Disco classic "Kung-fu Fighting" while a few hold up a long banner "No Nukes! Save the Earth!".... and a drone streams it live over the net.

... and that's what happens if activists get hold of this tech....

Imagine what happens when coal miners go on strike... or Portland has another sociopolitical teen-angst episode?

These puppies might be worth what it would cost to feed all your hungry people. Rolleyes /s

Some Japanese people might have other ideas for those robots when they arrive on their beaches. The robot brothels need more robot participants for their threesomes (maybe larger orgies). The question then becomes again, what is their manual dexterity ranges and capabilities? Or will they be resigned to exotic pole dancing?

Sex robot brothel opens in Japan amid surge of men…

I think if these are legit without any fudging of the robots to make them perform, then I imagine their first use will be to by the CCP to make sure the Chinese people are 'safe' walking the streets, just like they make sure the Chinese people are 'safe' using the internet. Then, maybe helping the Taiwanese choose to be Chinese instead.

I  could use one of these robots to feed the deer.  They have been hungry lately, I toss out potato wedges and carrot sticks to them many times a day when they come to the patio door.  Apples are off the menu right now, they are a buck sixty a pound at the stores.  I don't mind paying a buck a pound, but they go through them like crazy...again, I cut them and slice them into wedges.

I spent about two hours today feeding the deer, there are does with their fawns that come to feed, about ten total deer, four does and six fawns. a doe brings it's fawns in, then another doe comes with it's fawn...sort of like waiting at the service counter at McDs to get served, but they have to wait till one batch gets full before others are allowed to come in.  A robot would be great.  Didn't have any homemade bread for them today though, the does like bread more than the fawns, the fawns like toast better.  All we have is store bought rolls today, you can't toast them and I don't think it is appropriate to just give those to the does.

I doubt if that robot could shovel, or drive the plow truck.  I think it probably will not do good on ice and snow.  Probably be laying on the ground more than standing out here.  We do not have to worry about robots invading us in the winter in the U.P.  Although, maybe they will turn us into snow shoveling slaves.

Right now, outside of a parade with programmed choreography... marching in squads to 'glorious' music... (which could be an impressive display for 'the people' who need to be 'confident' that their army kicks butt)...

But unless we have a very different kind of battlefield, these things will just become fodder for salvage.

Could they build a habitat on the moon or Mars?

But what would be the need to look humanoid?

There have been plenty of videos come out about the Chinese T-800 in the last month. The question could be, is it typical Chinese propaganda or is a certain percentage of the demo the real deal ?

Until an independent non-Chinese evaluation is made we will just have to wait and see. Otherwise enjoy the show and if not now sometime in the near future everything that is claimed for this T-800 will indeed be fact only bigger and better.

Many developments according to China's propaganda machine.
