How to
#1
First off I have to say I like the fact you can’t like or star a post, even though ironically I kind of miss this and want to star some posts.. But that fact is it always seemed biased on the old ATS some would loads of stars for the most lame posts and others non at all for great well thought out posts. So that wasn’t fair.
Also it effects are psychology in a mostly negative way, either the validation or lack of directly affects are mood and the big players know this and use it to manipulate us. So overall I’m glad it’s gone.

Right my question is where is the guide to figure out this site, the basics are good and intuitive, but some kind of guide to help with the general things like posting pics creating avatars and other things that are possible would be great pinned to this board. Or maybe there is and I’ve missed it?

Hi SurferSoul, unfortunately, we don't yet have a one-stop shop for all things D.I., but the Freshman Forum is where they will probably end up.

The forum is still in evolution, with new features in the pipeline, old ones being discontinued for security reasons or incompatibility, etc.

All that to say, new tutorials are in the works as soon as each development phase is completed and we can provide definitive guides.

Now, bear with me for a minute whilst I go grab what we do have so far...

... Ok, I'm back and here is what I could find that should still be relevant:

How To Change Your Avatar, Mini Profile Background Color, & Background Image

https://denyignorance.com/Thread-How-To-...ound-Image

Or have a look here for how a member was helped...

New Avatars and Signature help

But, be aware of this...

Remote Avatars

Multiple Quotes Within Single Reply

Tutorial - Quote button, How it works.

Ok, as I said, more to come. The next one should be on embedding video, tips & tricks.

If there's anything more specific you're stuck on, just make a new thread in Board Questions & Business and we will try to help.

I absolutely agree. It's the social media model and it's destroyed our society. A good thread should speak for itself.

The points system I'm implementing, although absent at the moment as I'm dealing with update bugs, is mainly for fun and not intended as a metric. ATS once had a points store around 2004 where users could purchase virtual items for points accrued through posting. That's something I want to implement here. Much more so than a like/reputation system. We had a rep system initially that was enabled by default with the forum software, but I recently removed it.
