Well, it is not the first shutdown your people had to endure.

Generations before the USA survived without the US government.  I think people will survive with only essential government for a few days.

Did they ever? I sort of get the impression that they only "cared" because it could be used to advance the narrative that Trump was Putin's lap-dog, absurd though that was. A holdover from explaining Hilary's oh-so-puzzling trouncing as some super-secret Russian psyop coordinated by Mr Moscow himself, Donald Trump. Ah, fun times.

But now that they're leaning full-in to the 2025 "Trump is literally Hitler OMG fascist police state!" narrative, the Russia thing isn't really that useful any more, so their "care" is just quietly fading away....

Again.  Hamas uses children as shields.  Hamas cowers behind children while Israeli cares enough to build bomb shelters and provide missile defense or their civilians.  Hamas spent humanitarian aid on tunnels to cower in while the left children as shields.

Sad.  But one has to wonder if it’s also because there is more accountability in how the aid is distributed.  Not as many opportunities to skim and give kickbacks.
