Has a False Prophet been Elected in New York City

Because of their Liberal ideas and policies, many people and companies are moving out of places like New York, Illinois and California, because they can see the writing on the wall. Even the NYSE is starting to move away from Wall Street and shifting to Dallas. Billionaires are fleeing California before the "one time tax" passes....ok anybody who believes it's just once needs their head examined and billionaires didn't get rich being stupid....

When the millionaires and billionaires are gone and there's no one left to pay for all that "free" stuff, the average Joe is going to find out free is very expensive.

Sometimes you just have to let them touch the stove.

Sometimes they know to turn the stove off, when others do not.

It really sounds like people need to re-evaluate what DEI policies were attempting to do.

Perhaps we need to ask ourselves whether DEI policies are still necessary to redress imbalances and inequalities caused by the attitudes of some people.

I think it is disingenuous to demand that this politician lose their job, when exactly the same sort of language is flung in the opposite direction by your President. Perhaps they should both loose their jobs if they can't play nice?

Nope, absolutely not. It isn't about playing nice and pretending everyone is so lovely and good, WHEN THEY AREN'T.
Your way is idealism shrouded in falsehood, just so no one is "offended". Which is the reason your country and others like GB are being slowly destroyed using the same false doctrine. Liberties gone.

You will let commies and Sharia law worm it's way in rather than be caught calling out how destructive it is. (And you are likely to be arrested if you do!)

Trump is the only one in a leadership position to call a spade a spade. Trump is crushing it right now at Davos. Lol

Absolutely, the same rules should apply to everyone...wait, we are talking about Trump, so everyone can now not play nice and speak their individual truths?...wait, free speech is not a thing there anymore, right, except for the select few elitists?

DEI has never had anything to do with free speech or "speaking individual truths".

It was a program made up to hire people that were, typically, underqualified and hiring based on the color of ones skin (usually labeled as prefer racially diverse (IE: "whites need not apply"), all under the guise of making things "equitable" for those that are under represented in those fields.

There is no profession in this universe that should hire based on the color of ones skin, where you come from, how much money you have, or any of that other bullshit that does not matter. It should always be based solely on who is the most qualified for the job. That is what DEI was designed to destroy

A long-time NYC associate said years ago, sometimes New Yorkers need a punch in the nose to wake them up.

Hopefully, this is what happens, but it's like he said, you see a lot of firms that had permanent offices in NYC leave already.

He really expects an Escape from New York after a year or 2

New York just cranked it to 11 and tore the knob off.

They are all educated money men and women, business people, politicians, bankers and economists. They all know that tariffs are paid primarily by the import companies, in this case American importers, They all said that raising tariffs only causes trading partners to raise their tariffs, too. That is EXACTLY what has happened.

Americans Have Paid For 96% of Tariff Costs, Study Finds

For years, the holy grail was free trade with no tariffs, and let the market sort out volumes and prices, but sometimes tariffs were still used to prop up business sectors that weren't doing too well and, invariably, there has been kick-back against it by raising tariffs the other way.

Trump's tariffs are a blunt instrument. They aren't protecting a specific sector or business, but instead cover just about everything. They are also way too high and are applied punitively, rather than responsive to the performance of previous trade.

Trump's are tariffs for the sake of tariffs, and no other good reason.

Trump has a narcissistic-psychopathic personality disorder which, among other things, means he is unable to to conceive that he could be wrong. That is why he does dumb stuff, and when it fails, he always blames someone else, or totally denies the evidence before him, but usually both at the same time.

But everyone at Davos knows all that.

Trump is the comedy act.

Why do people live where they do?  Mostly for work. Ability to work remotely has freed up many for living choices.

Another reason is weather.  With weather changes causing more and more severe weather -- some are looking for warmer climate.  You can't beat the west coast for weather.

I know it's shocking, but some people do care about humanity and being humane and accepting toward others.  California had the Unruh Civil Rights Act 5 years before the Federal Civil Rights Act -- and it included sexual orientation.

The Reality Check: Why Many Are Coming Back

But now, the trend is shifting. What many people found in their new homes didn’t match the dream.
  • Summers in places like Texas and Arizona were brutally hot
  • Property taxes turned out to be higher than expected
  • The culture, lifestyle, and politics didn’t feel like “home”
  • And the excitement wore off quickly
One client told me, “We thought we wanted a red state — until we lived in one.”

So now they’re returning to California — and they know exactly what they want this time around.

We are absolutely not California and if they want to go back because it doesn't feel like home, that's fine.

People suffering from Stockholm Syndrome never feel quite comfortable till they're back with their captors.
